Very true RE: FFP. Good point. Not many player + cash swaps these days. But don't see them taking advantage of the FFP freedom the £105M provides, like what Villa did with the Grealish money...
-
Rumor this morning that West Ham want him to replace Cresswell. But part of me thinks if that was true, they'd have tried 85M + Tierney for Rice...? Before accepting the £105M

LB or CB I assume. If we get a LB, we can move Burn inside as cover. Not ideal but Rome wasnt built in a day...

Reporters dying to inflate our prices to push the narrative we're spending wildly. BBC reporting 40M...

Aye, fully agree. Apply Filter, Search 116 Search Results Let's get another one in...!

According to the BBC, Eddie Howe in the press conference gave no indication on Tino Livramento’s potential arrival at the club saying "I am slightly in the dark on that but I certainly like the player." I take that to mean he's already with the squad, refereeing the final of Teqball between Big Joe and Bruno...
-
Nor do I, FWIW but understand the line of thinking and why people would make the claim. I just don't think he's an Eddie Howe type player (i.e skillset on AND off the ball), or at least, in the system he wants us to play.
-
Probably that FFP has limited our spending and made the turnover of players slower? Same could be said for half our team. All ifs, buts and maybes, though.

Was the only glimour of hope in many a dark day. I'll always hold special memories of him. We're heading in a different direction, but wish him nothing but happiness.
-
Totally see your point, but surely the players fitness and availability are (key) factors when considering their value to a club?
-
Was never a huge fan of Gordon, even more so having paid £45M for him, but he had a cracking Euros. To write him off so early, when he came here with ultra low confidence, would be strange.
-
It makes sense. I thought ASMs ambiguous post at the end of the year was one where he wanted to stay, but his gut / info he had told him that he'd be moved on. I thought at the time it was a "please stick with me I'm trying to be the best I can be, but if I do go, I gave everything, please love me" post

Haha it's also bollocks. Just some lass with an OF account looking for clickbait interactions that direct to her profile. They're getting smarter in how they lure idiots

How many left wingers do we need Madness. I love it.

Terrible news. My heart always goes into my mouth when I see notifications like "Former Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar..." Here's hoping for positive news and a full recovery

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)
BlazeT44 replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
If we were truly in for him, and preferred Spurs to us, he will regret it in years to come. Not just sour grapes either. I can see the potential appeal of Arsenal, City, Liverpool or Manchester United over us. But Spurs? My God. They're downward trending, run by an idiot, not guaranteed top 6, no Champions League and they're absolutely buried if Kane leaves. -
Waiting for July 1st??

Aye but even with the best accoustics in the world, you still need a fanbase to make some noise
-
The one that leaps to mind is CenturyLink Field, which is home to the Seahawks NFL Team. Fantastic accoustics. Its materials and design magnify the sound allowing the decibel reading to be the equivalent of the noise level of a jet engine.

As a football fan in the UK, I couldn't name that many punters outside of New England, but I could name you Pat McAfee. But I agree, he's better known for things he's done since being a punter. His meteoric rise was always on the cards, though. His charisma and personality was evident as a player. That's why every NFL fan knew of him. Those gifts and qualities have subsequently led to stardom in the media.

Apologies if this has been posted and discussed, but I saw this during a morning browse... Amanda Staveley is alleged to have failed to repay a loan of more than £35m that dates back to over a decade...? https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/06/23/newcastle-united-owner-amanda-staveley-bankruptcy-row/

Just seen it. Read it in a half pissed state
