  1. Very sad to see him go if this is true. But he really is not very suited to Howe's game. What he is though, is ridicilously entertaining footballer to watch. You never know what happens and what kind of tricks he has. A big reason to go and watch games, even though might not have the best end product and all that.
  2. Can he really play right back in our system though? I haven't seen him play, so no idea.
  3. Burn is ok as a LCB backup, but we need a right footed cb behind Schär.
  4. I would take this. We have no idea what is Krafths level after injury. Funnily that might be true for Livramento also.
  5. Manquillo is reportedly off to Getafe. Krafth is not good enough and Ashby has not played games at top level at all? Most likely will be loaned. I wouldn't want to start UCL-game or against top 6 with Krafth right back, but I am content with starting Burn or Targett left back. (and yes, would be nice to have a quality starting LB also) And we need to sell left backs also..
  6. I am not sure how people keep saying left back is a priority. We have absolutely no depth on the right behind Trippier, who cannot play 50 games a season. We were ok with Targett and Burn last season. Yes, we need to upgrade that, but getting an option for Trippier is a must. Livramento will be starting right back for us very soon, is English and not very expensive. Although a bit risky.
  7. HJK Helsinki sacked their manager after this 1-0 win. Interesting to see how it turns out.
  8. Top7 would be great. The competition is a lot lot harder next season. We will most likely be nowhere near top4, but that is not a worry for me.
  9. Surely we need backup right back more than starting left back.
  10. Playing a box midfield will require either A) wing backs B) inverted full back like TAA. That lineup means Barnes and the RW are wing backs?

    Harvey Barnes

The problem with ASM is that he really is not a team player. If he would have better decision making, he would cost 100 million and would play in Real. I mean, he wants the ball played in his feet, does not make runs behind, does not play one-twos etc. He is essentially a dribbler. I love the man, but understand completely why he is not in Eddie's plans. Our left side will never work like the right worked last season with ASM there. Of course we can pull the opposition to our right with overload (and most likely will next year also) and then switch play to get ASM 1v1. He just is not a player for passing combinations and pressing game. I mean, does he ever make a run behind the defender? We should upgrade both sides, but RW should be first.
  12. He really is not something we need. If we are close to FFP limit, there is absolutely no point getting him. We have just got a 40m left winger in January. Yes, we need a strong squad because of the UCL-games and all that, but Barnes is just nothing special. Chieasa on to right would make sense tho.
  13. Please, no Harvey Barnes, and certainly not with that price. He can't go past a player, and when we are playing more and more against a low block, we really do not need a player like him. He fits perfectly to somewhere like West Ham where he can use his speed in transitions. Barnes had 0,9 succsesful take-ons per game last season. ASM had 4,5. I would say Barnes was an option for Gordon, but after January we should not be after left winger anymore. We need a left footed right winger, but someone who is better at his right foot than Almiron, who is too scared to use his right. Using Saint-Maximin on the right messes up the whole right side, because he cannot play combinations.
  14. Cucurella must be on a pretty big wage in Chelsea. They need to sell, but will not sell Gallagher most likely. Seems a nothing rumour.
  15. No need for left wingers at all. Even if we sell ASM, I would still buy right winger first...
  16. I think it is obvious: we need club trained players for UCL squad.
  17. This maybe a dumb question, but at least the topic is then correct. I have interesting piece of Hungarian (and English) football history, and I decided to offer it to some museum to their exhibition. I found this https://www.nationalfootballmuseum.com/exhibitions/ferenc-puskas-worlds-greatest-goalscorer/ but I don't know if that is still open. Is that like the biggest football related museum in England? Hungary did not seem to have any football museum, only sports in general. Hopefully the photo is good enough, but it is a matchday programme from December 1954 with Hungarian players autographs. Wolves vs Kispest Honved.
  18. Most likely younger guy and not a big name. Same goes to striker, might well get an option there for cheap. Wilson is injured a lot.
  19. Why would we be after Thuram anymore? Would cost something like 50 million and we need right winger more. Szobo is a totally different player.
  20. Seems idiotic, given that Haaland will break that record if he stays at City in few years..
  21. You mean new deal or with Bayern?
  22. I think we have to forget players like Raphinha. These players would have to take a paycut to come to Newcastle, and I just do not see that being very realistic.
  23. I think Tonali and Maddison were the options for the same spot. So when we got Tonali, cant really say we missed on Maddison. He is not a winger in Howe's 4-3-3.
  24. And i hate that "proven in PL" thing, because it really does not mean a thing. Football is not that different in top level. Chris Wood is proven in PL, and you can easily find 50 better strikers that are cheaper from the continent. Yes, Mount is pretty young and English, and knows the league and culture and all that. He will not need time to adapt. Mount has had one very good season, and couple of average ones. His stats are pretty much similar to Harvey Barnes', who has been playing in a poor team. Sterling cost less than Mount, and his numbers are totally different. IMO same thing that with players like Phillips, Maguire etc. As soon as English player shows some kind of promise, prices skyrocket. I think he will do ok for ManU, but he is not a world beater. Just like Barnes is not. Wages are ridiculous.
  25. Szobo will certainly take Henderson's place. So they will line up in possession: Diaz - Gakpo - Salah MacAllister - Szobo Fabinho - TAA Robertson-VVD-Konate Allison Nunez is the odd man out. Seems like a bust at the moment. Strong attacking line up that, and strong bench. I would guess that they will concede a lot again though.
