Most likely places from 2 to 6 will be very close. They will get stronger in the summer and get the 85-95 points again.
-
Mount is nothing special. ManU need a center forward more than anything, so don't get the idea of spending 70 million on Mount.
-
I think both are out if a decent bid comes in. Great lads, but we can do better and their price most likely is only going down.
-
Ritchie, Lewis and Dummett are all de facto left backs. We already have Targett and Burn there. If we buy left back, all those are gone. RB position we got Trippier and Ashby, so Krafth and Manquillo are 3rd and 4th choice. You don't have to replace these guys necessarily.
-
That have actually played? (so not include Lewis, Fraser, M. Longstaff, Clark, Hendrick, Gillespie, Ritchie) Not many. 2-3 I would say. We need: left back (and need to get rid of 1-2 current left backs) two centre midfielders, a defensive and an attacking one right winger (and maybe get rid of one) understudy right centre back for Schär Anything else is a bonus.

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)
KingArthur replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
I like him, but what position will he play? Joelinton's on the left of three? Or Longstaff's? Or right wing? -
I think next season will be last.
-
He has got decent amount of goals, but he is awful 1v1 player. I would really hope that if we spend 40-50 million for a player, he would offer a threat in that regards.
-
Please god no Barnes
-
Hopefully we stay clear of him. Decent stats, but awful 1v1 player.
-
I thought Pavard has mostly been playing RB
-
Trippier should just shoot it occasionally. Those clips in are easy for Souttar.
-
To be honest both Manquillo and Krafth are most likely very cheap. Maybe we get a nominal fee from Fraser, if he wants to go somewhere and take a pay cut. Also Ciaran Clark's contract is up, dunno if we have played some of his wages still. Hendrick most likely leaves.

Agree. This might be the right moment to cash in on some players that have overperformed. Murphy and Miggy come to mind, but I would guess Miggy is untouchable.

Newcastle United 4-1 Brighton & Hove Albion (18/05/2023)
KingArthur replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
To be honest, what is the alternative with that team? Kick it long when there is Burn, Schär and Botman winning headers? They are playing from the back nicely, but the they really missed MacAllister and Caicedo in the middle, and we were relentless with the press. That Brighton team is not very good, it had Undav and Welbeck up top ffs. You know what you get with De Zerbi, like you know Big Sam has his team kicking it long all the time, no matter how wise it is. -
The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)
KingArthur replied to Rich's topic in Football
I know this is not a popular opinion, but I still think people give too much value for top 4, in NUFC case. We haven't made a budget counting to it and not promising players UCL football yet. Yes, it perhaps would push our plans ahead a year or two, but with PIF's resources we will end up in top 4 eventually anyway. Any other result would be a total disaster. They are rebuilding the whole club from the training ground up. After waiting for so long for success and already getting to 1 cup final, at least I myself can wait a bit longer. We are top team for good now. Dropping out of CL is of course a big hit for established teams, and teams like Spurs and Chelsea will suffer, especially Chelsea given their spending. But Liverpool for example are in decent shape FFP-wise, they will still attract better players than we do, and for the moment pay bigger salaries, even in UEL. And yes, it would be great to see us end in Top4. Some here just seem to take it a bit too seriously. -
Isak on the left has worked well at the end. When the opposition is not attacking that much anymore ( Southampton and Brentford) or they have awful fullback (Everton) Isak has to do too much defending if he starts there. No room to carry etc. I don't think this should be tried in tougher games. But on the other hand, you usually want all your best players on the pitch and at home have a go.

Win against Leeds and it is pretty much guaranteed. Cannot see us going the last 3 without a win. -
He is clearly injured. Running is slow and shooting weak. Most likely he is paying with some drugs because of the ankle problem.
-
I think all of our wingers will be sold (edit. could be sold) with the right offer. Murphy most likely will not have such a good season again next year, but he is cheap. Almiron or ASM would bring some cash in. I would want to see the back of Hendrick, Lascelles, Ritchie, Dummett, Lewis, Fraser and Dubravka though this summer.

Or 1-3-1 record? -
Yes it is. And many other sports give assists from rebounds.
-
True, we robbed Hoffenheim blind. 40 million for Brazil International man!
-
93-94 was with 42 games?
-
Burn can be 4th choice CB, but not a starting left back. Horrible performance today.
