Agree that the management deserve some (or a lot) criticism for how they have acted this transfer window, but I also think a lot of the criticism is undeserved/exxagerated. We don't have the financial muscle to just pay the asking price both in terms of transfer fees and player contracts. We need good deals. Think we never really had a chance to get most of them anyways after their head got turned by what they perceive as bigger clubs. Moving at a snails pace is a criticism i wholeheartedly agree with though.

I get that its hard to see Liverpool buying Ekitike just to have him as a backup to Isak. But for me its harder to see Isak risking his reputation without already knowing that Liverpool wants him.

There is nothing as risky as not being willing to take any risks.

Now its having a little trouble on the management side after the CEO being sick with cancer and our sporting director suddenly quit after supposedly clashing with one of our greatest manager ever.

I just don't understand why on earth we would "promise" a player a new contract. What did we get in return for this supposed promise? Can easily believe that the former administration were in contract talks with him and the new administration chose to not go forward with. But thats not breaking an agreement.

The project as sold was dead the moment the other clubs got together to hold us down. Hanging on to players who want to leave won't make a difference. For my part im just enjoying what we are doing with what we got. It's going better than it has for a couple of decades.

And I'm totally on board with that if we don't get a bid that matches his valuation. Think it's a bad look if we do and we hang on to him despite him wanting away though. Might discourage other players coming here. We should just face the fact that we aren't the top dogs, YET.

Getting more depth up top was a more pressing issue imo considering Wilson's injury record. True that the signing of Osula haven't turned out great yet, but sometimes that happens.

Rather not have them communicating through a proven liar if thats what they are doing.
