Actually think its wrong to say that he isnt an elite manager. Havent had the time/chance to prove he is one yet, but its an open question for me. What he has achieved with us is certainly elite level.

Not sure if these posts are parodies or not anymore. Didnt offer any threat? All our players struggled with build up play that game. Almiron atleast got into threatining positions and created some threat by himself aswell.
-
Pretty pretty sure.
-
That is only if its a pen.

Well i can only criticize what in under the teams control. What seemed to be our gameplan allowed for luck and quality of opposition to play the part it did. Yes we would have won most games out of a 100, but if we had been more aggressive we would have won alot more i think. They were there for the taking being down to 10 men and playing with two subsistute CBs

What wasnt clear cut with the red card? That is was a foul or that it would have been a clear goal scoring oppurtunity if he hadnt been fouled? Both seem obvious to me.
-
I actually dont think he did any mistakes the last 10 minutes. That last push was always going to come from Liverpool if we hadnt ended the game by then. Doesnt matter if we controlled the game 80 minutes prior.
-
Dont think he massively fucked up, but I was dissapointed in the intensity of our play. Thought it was really lacking considering we played over 60 minutes against 10 men at home. Seemed like we tried to control and slow the game down. May not be Howe's fault, he did say they were trying to go for another goal and end the game. Perhaps the fault lies more on the players letting the occasion get to them. Or maybe im just wrong.

Do we really have pages upon pages with posts blasting the fans reaction to Eddie Howe because two people implied we need a better manager and one guy complaining about results against big teams? Quite the overreaction then.
-
Eddie Howe is my favorite thing going at Newcastle atm, but people should be able to point out what they see as flaws in his decision making or abilities. He is not perfect and above critisicm. People saying he should get sacked are idiots ofcourse, but cant recall many here calling for that?
-
Also scored 3 goals this pre-season. Self confidence and nerves may be playing a part? Hopefully got some psychologist on our team that can help him if thats the case.
-
Its also not by chance that he is the one that are getting in the position to get those chances. This guy knows running and positioning.
-
Got no problems with the subs either. Only critisicm from me is that we didnt try harder to finish the game and allowed Liverpool a last minute push. Also slightly worried that we look kinda clueless against a low backline.
-
Yeah not going to happen this window.
-
Think we would be better selling him off then and getting a talent in to utilize in those games. Should get a decent fee for him.
-
With one of his best abilities being able to run for 90 minutes, its starter or nothing imo. Same with Longstaff. Wasted otherwise
-
Crosses would be better, but it would nullify his goal threat. All he pretty much have is his left footed curler into the left corner(which i dont mind at all as long as it gets the job done).

I DoGAF about Wilson being happy and wanting to stay. The competition between him and Isak secured us the Champions League qualification last year. Still the most scoring player in PL since april while having limited playing time.
-
Isak looked pretty off yesterday tbh. Only had 10 touches and fumbled it away every time. Did have a nice run for the red card though. Not sure if I would call bringing on a player like Wilson pre-planned or just a no-brainer. He certainly wouldnt be happy staying on the bench the whole game. Maybe Isak will get his chance running at tired legs next game
-
Yes thats true. Doesnt mean im wrong
-
Checked where? Not the actual game atleast if you mean successful ones.
-
Excellent? Man you must really like short safe passes in the middle of the pitch. Didnt create a single chance. Didnt win the ball a single time. Well below 50% success rate on passes that wasnt short and safe. Got dispossesed multiple times. On his one attempt on goal the ball went out of the stadium. Which moments of excellence did i miss?

Im all for looking at the bigger picture usually. But losing to Liverpool like this just pushes me over the edge. Let us wallow in self pity and needing someone to blame for a few days
