Gonna trust you then. Weird rule though.

Only one who I think is unsellable is Isak. And thats only because I think his popularity puts us on the map with new fans. Dont really think we are in a position to not consider £70m for a fullback.
-
Well, kinda. Not worrying, but sucks a little that we didnt have anyone already lined up.
-
Nah, wont be any significant amortization on players we buy now, just one month.
-
Yes if he ends up there it means I have misjudged him and never would have wanted him anyways.
-
I like Murphy and have rated him for some time now. But I also think it is going too far to think that we should rely on him being the clear 1st choice now that we have the oppurtunity to give him some solid competition. When considering that Mbeumo also could be our backup striker Murphy will still get alot of games in a season where we also have CL.

We are getting our info from twitter chat now are we?

I just hope noone comes in with a foolish offer on Garnacho and that they continue being stuck with Sancho/Rashford/Anthony etc. Losing Fernandes wont be positive for them in the short term, even if they get some money to invest.
-
Hmm. -Both the players and manager of Brentford have talked about the likehood of him leaving this summer. -Fits in perfectly in our squad. -Not alot of other teams in the PL that looks like likely suitors. He is both intelligent and down to earth, so that leaves Man Utd out. -Newcastle(along with Everton) are his favorite stadiums to go to.
-
A CM that has the ability to break down teams that park the bus is something I drool after.
-
I get why people are sceptical if they think we only have a £100m budget or less, because i also agree that we need to upgrade the squad in general. But im pretty sure that isnt the case.
-
This is going to be my last post in this boring discussion back and forth. But we can atleast agree on the balance being better without Longstaff, just not the reason why
-
Role/position whatever you call it, Tonali's isnt the same as Longstaff's. Tonali plays as a number 6 and Longstaff is a box to box. No reason that those two roles cant be on the pitch at the same time. He also played the full FA cup matches vs lower league opponents. But sure, "lately" could have been replaced with last time ive seen him. Cant remember him being good for a long long time.
-
Longstaff doesnt have the same role as Tonali though??
-
I mean even Eddie who loves the guy has only used him for 75mins in total the last 20 PL games.
-
Maybe most will, not sure about that. But there certainly are those who dont need gametime to look ok, and those are the ones we need to get as squad players.
-
Truly think he has been lately. Hard for me defend other peoples viewpoints, but i have never thought Krafth and Lascelles were that bad.
-
Well thats the thing though, especially Longstaff doesnt function at all as a squad player. Has a much higher worth in a team where he can get alot of minutes.
-
The point from my silly post is that we would have been fucked if we ever got in that position anyways, because a Longstaff without game time might be the worst player i have ever seen in a Newcastle shirt. Does nothing but fall over and miss passes.
-
If we ever were in a position were Longstaff could have started for us in the CL.. Bitch we would have 99 problems, but not having Longstaff available wouldn't be one.
-
Nah, Mbeumo can also rest when we use Murphy with Isak.
-
They can say that they will keep him if £60m is not met all they want, im 99% certain that they will settle for less. £50-55m is alot of money for them, something they might very well miss out on if he stays another year as he might decide to let the contract run out to get his huge paycheck. Might take a little longer pushing the figure down to that amount though, and we risk losing him to another club.

Think its going to be hard to find a decent backup to Isak. Do we even want someone that is happy to just be a pure backup? That almost certainly knows that he will never be the first choice as long as Isak is here? Thats one of the reasons why I find Mbeumo such a perfect fit. He has also shown that he can handle a heavy workload. Played almost every minute for Brentford this season.
