Assuming we keep ASM that would kind of throw the DCL link off for me, ASM wouldnt be providing the type of service that gets the best out of DCL.

Potter went through a brutal run with Brighton which might have taken the shine off of him a bit.

Schmeichel would be a very good signing for 2/3 seasons, he’s better than Dubs in almost all areas and as has been said he’s a great character/leader to have behind any defence. Tarkowski would be a solid signing as well, considering we are most likely letting go of Clark and Fern I see him as a good bit of business. Without doubt he’s an upgrade on those 2, a wealth of PL experience and while he may not be great with the ball he’s pretty good without it. 29 is a good age for a CB, if he’s happy to come here and not be a guaranteed starter week in week out then it would work for all parties. I think some people might have to lower their expectations on what our window will look like this summer, I expect it to look pretty similar to January overall in terms of which leagues we buy from. 1/2 younger players from abroad (of Bruno’s level) and 4/5 from the PL, just with slightly more quality throughout the signings. The run we went on and our wealth has some people thinking we will be looking at raiding Europe for all the top young talent there, we are just not realistically able to do that at the level we are at this season.

No I’d agree, impressive isn’t the word I’d use either really but I think they have done decently with the money they’ve spent overall. They signed Cash, Targett and Martinez for under £15m each over the last couple of seasons, might be a couple more but off the top of my head those stand out.

Without checking I think he had one season in the PL there which was unremarkable but then had a season in the championship and tore it up.

To be fair the ambition is clearly there, obviously not every signing will be a hit but they have done some shrewd business over the last couple of years as well as dishing out some big fees.

I've been thinking about this - you'd think a Brazilian contingent would help integrate another Brazilian into the side/club faster but could it also work the other way to? To large of a group of Brazilian players in their own little group rather than mixing into the rest of the squad?
