  1. Sad to see him injured again, I believe he would probably start the next game if tite decides to use a mixed team. Paqueta will be our number 8 tomorow, i still think that's were bruno would elevate our midfield for the world cup, specially agaisnt a strong squad (let's say, france, england, germany, etc).
  2. It's "Prefeito". "O prefeito" means The mayor and it's, masculine, feminine would be "A prefeita"

    Loris Karius

This guy had a very promissing carrer till that UCL final. Crippling depression can ruin everything you hold dear if not taken care off. As someone who needed a total 180 degrees turn to overcame mental health issues I love seeing people like Karius getting second chances and working hard for recovery! If any coach in the EPL can make him play when even Klopp couldn't I belive it's Howe. His work with the toons is simply (as the 9th doctor used to say) Fantastic!
  4. He just posted a instagram story with our anthem playing saying he's already negotiating that loan clause if we win the libertadores! just imagine a top EPL player, world cup champion playing the club world club for us. (at least I can dream) How not to love that guy?
  5. Thx mate! I'm still extremely hangover but it was totally worth it. At that point, after our second goal 84 minutes in I was just chanting and too drunk to care, but it probably was just late-match "Catimba" as we call it in south america, letting the time pass, Argentinians are "The" experts on it! P.S. Scolari, yeah, Big Phil himself got us to our second ever Libertadores final and Fernandinho was also on the squad in the first one 17 years ago. Scolari is at his fourth Libertadores final and this is probably his last dance before retiring. I know this is totally off-topic, but for us this is as big as if the Toons got to the UCL final (and i'm rooting for that to happen sooner than later)
  6. Actually the complete opposite, he only want's to help his brazilian team on the Club World Club, just 3 games and he would be back at Newcastle you guys woudn't even miss him!
  7. I don't know how to embbed twitter posts on the forum, but yesterday Paranaense qualified for the Libertadores final (2nd in our history). I'm facing a major hangover but this tweet made my day even more special. The man himself said he's negociating a loan if we reach the FIFA Club World Cup! https://twitter.com/brunoog97/status/1567502066133630976?s=20&t=FaEAiIq0PwbvXdvmagvzUw Well, I can at least dream about it!
  8. Not Really, but I don't see him coming to the squad before the world cup, we have Douglas Luiz, Danilo and Gerson in front of him today. Yeah, I was thinking wing-back when I wrote that post, still, very solid squad for the next world cup.
  9. Just watched Man UTD x Arsenal, thought it was a great game, just excited to see some brazilian talent being decisive for both teams. I'm actually hopeful for the next br generation, in this year's world cup they're already a pretty exciting one, but, think 2026. We have, Vini Jr, Martinelli, Raphinha, Rodrygo, Antony, Richalison, Jesus and Pedro, and just at the attack we still have Vitor Roque and Endrick coming (if those two can fulfill their potencial, and the other ones keep progressing, we're gonna have one of the best front lines ever), pair that with Bruno, Fabinho, Ederson, Alisson, Paquetá (far from the classic brasilian 10 class but still, a great player), Marquinhos, Militao and Magalhães and we have a very solid 2026 cycle,(we don't have great wing-backs yet, that's our weakness).
  10. That's a lad who's clearly worked out his whole life!
  11. Football is a blessing! Unfortunately for me my folks made me study!
  12. He's only a little short of a World-class player. Seeing him play I always get the impression that he chooses the wong option to finish the play 9 out 10 times, otherwise he's superb.
  13. That was the best EPL game of the season so far! Amazing football from both teams. First full NUFC game I saw this season, good to see Wilson playing well again and I really liked Pope, seems way better than Dubravka
  14. There are regional variations, I don't know about brittish accents, but Brazil is as large as the usa, pronunciation change more in the rhythm people speak and in sounds of "s" "de" "te" and slangs more than anything
  15. You sir are right. Btw thank you, This page of this topic discussing pronunciaton made me laugh. Bonus tip. Joelinton should sound about the same as Joelington, it's the same name, just the brasilianized version. You guys would not believe how many "Uóxiton"(whasington) and co. we have in brazil I talked about vitor roque in this thread last week and yesterday he scoread the goal that put the team to the semi-finals of the copa libertadores. 17years old and 12 goals as a pro (he's the 2005 born player with most goals in the world already) , this kid is insane!
  16. And is playing in the same club There's a goal.com article about him as well. https://www.goal.com/en/news/vitor-roque-brazilian-football-new-ronaldo/blt3c8f7e0f143fcb33
  17. Just gonna leave a suggestion. This kid is 17 years old, scoring goals like this on the brazilian 1st division, already scored at libertadores too! Yesterday won MOTM as well. You guys should scout him ASAP, because city has fernandinho playing with him! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLmKv7zZcp0
  18. I've been saying this for at least 2 years now, well, one can hope that Tite will see the light and accept "The Truth". He's better than Fred in every single metric, I think Fred is a little bit Phisically Stronger, but on the rest there's no comparsion.
  19. I honestly thought he was a CB, saw some highlights, seems like a good player, but I haven't seen anyone talking about him online or between my friends yet
  20. State leagues are regional leagues that usually go from january to march, most really big clubs use mixed os reserve squads before the play-offs (my team usually goes full U23 for the regionals) except in Sao Paulo where it's actually pretty competitive. There's also the Brazilian Cup where most clubs no matter the division (some without) play, thers a North East Cup and we used to have a Rio-SP and a South-Minas Cup (whole south and Minas Gerias top teams) but except for the NE Cup the others were discontinued.
  21. Not even on the stadium I would have a better experience watching that goal!
  22. Yes, thats "Felipão" on the bench! We got only 2 losses since he came in, one in his debut 14 games unbeaten, another loss and 2 wins. I never thought I'd see him coaching my team, much less bringing this kind of performance 20 yeas after the "penta". About Igor Gomes I have seen only 2 full games of Sao Paulo this year, he's a good CB but at those games didn't look like nothing special to me. Thats David Terans or King Terans as we call him, he's a Uruguay international and last year was the most decisive foreign player in the BR League. I saw that goal yesterday in the most insane way possible, was having a interval quickie with the ms. and when she came off of my lap I looked at the tv and he was making the 1st touch for that goal 1st division is 20 clubs with the last 4 being relegated and 4 coming from 2nd division. There's no conferences or anything like that, if you are lets say from Manaus (Amazonas) and you have a game in Porto Alegre (farthest capital south in Brazil) you're travelling(Most big clubs in Brazil are in SouthEast and South). Also, that's the big difference between European and South American football besides the money, here the travels are INSANE, specially when you face teams in high altitudes, La Paz is like 7km above sea level, in Brazil alone you have cities where this time of the year the temperature is something like 5ºC and others like where I live with 30ºC on the same country.
  23. Fernandinho played his first 20 minutes back in Brazil yesterday and got an assist, he's still fucking genius! We don't have this kind of midfielder in the BR League, he got some passes between the lines to his teammates that they received looking really surprised Fernandinho's assist for the 4th goal at 6:41, the 3rd goal at 3:43 is just amazingly ridiculous amazing game to have him back!
  24. There's a 17y old who's playing like fire in Brazil, his name is Vitor Roque, you guys should watch his development closely, he's scoring goals at the 1st division and Libertadores (also is a starter for Brazil's U-20 who just won the U-20 world cup), is fast, strong, good on the and ball big games do not seem to scary him. He actually was the best player for his team in the round of 16 in the Libertadores counting both legs. Some people in Brazil are already talking about taking him to Qatar like we did to Ronaldo in 94. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfpIxeN58HM (tried to embed the video but failed a guess)
