  1. My understanding is that the 15m we would get from Europe could allow us to sign a player for 75m transfer fees over a 5 year contract. It should be significant.

    Joe Willock

Since we are not in any European competition next season, I agree with those who think we should sell him if an offer like 30m comes along if that allows us to get top targets in other positions that we need. We all agree that we should improve next season. It’s not just that our owners are too ambitious, it’s that I am afraid players like Bruno or Isak wouldn’t stay for long if they don’t see the Newcastle project going in the direction they would want, especially since all top clubs would be happy to have them in their teams. We should work to get players who can transform us, and Willock isn’t a player who will do that in all honesty. He’s a decent player who could be a good impact sub, but that’s it. He would be an important player for Everton or Brentford, but we should be aiming to have players of the Bruno or Isak caliber in all positions. Don’t forget our owners want us to win the league in 8 years (it was 10 years from the takeover).

    Next season

If Man U managed to win a trophy per season in the last couple of seasons, why can’t we?
  4. Don’t forget about Murphy. He did well when he played there.
  5. I was thinking the same. Pope is still prone to another shoulder injury, and that would be the only reason why we would spend that much on a goalkeeper at this time.

    Lewis Hall

I think he improved a lot in the last couple of months with all the playtime he got, which isn’t surprising since playtime is crucial for someone of his age. To be fair, he wouldn’t have played that much had the others not been out for injury. I hope he continues to get those minutes next season especially since we will have a super tight schedule with conference league.
  7. And he played only 60 minutes in a significant portion of those games.

    Next season

I would look at it from a different angle, it would be really exciting for us if our team plays every three days for an entire season as opposed to having a single game per week, that’s just a lot of games to watch and more goals to enjoy, as long as we have a better depth next season.
  9. The new format was designed to prevent ESL from ever getting launched. They filled the calendar with games so there’s simply no place for it.
  10. Isak can’t even spit nowadays let alone score a goal.
  11. And there won’t be any debates about controversial decisions if we don’t have VAR? Wouldn’t those debates be 10 times what is now since we will objectively get more incorrect calls if VAR hadn’t existed?
  12. It’s not just about offside, what about penalties? In the 20-21 season, 125 penalties were given, and 23% of those penalties were given after referring to VAR. Even if you disagree with some of those decisions, I am sure most of those were rightfully given. In the same season, 22 penalty calls were overturned after referring to VAR as the they were deemed too soft. Those are significant numbers, and even if the minority of those calls were wrong, we would be fuming if the ref made a wrong call against us if VAR didn’t exist. Gordon’s penalty wasn’t given last game even after referring to VAR, well that sucked, but it wouldn’t have been given without VAR either. At least such controversial calls are just the exception now, not the norm. what about handballs or possible red cards? I mean, the hand of god goal wouldn’t have stood if we had VAR, and the examples are too many. I am actually surprised that some are calling to go back to the earlier days when mistakes were a normal part of the sport. From the tip of my head, a significant number of our penalties were given after going back to VAR.
  13. And if we go and win the whole thing at ECL, we get around £15m in prize money. That’s not bad at all.
  14. When did Lewis Hall take his shirt off and join the Burnley stands?

    Lewis Hall

I would like to thank our gardening team for bringing him to our team, he’s got potential.
  16. He really wants to score, don’t blame him since he has a chance for the top scorer this season.
  17. So Gordon’s goal against Arsenal has literally become the reason why they’ve lost the league to Man City
  18. Let’s remember that Sean wouldn’t have even played the match had Tonali not turned out to be a bidding addict. I agree, his performance leave a lot to be desired for a team that wants to play in UCL every year. But just like with Dubravka, he’s not supposed to be starting games.
