That the Twitter gadgie? What has he said?
-
I’m perfectly ok with him leaving, but he’d still be the best RB I’ve seen in B&W to date. I’m hopeful Livramento will take that crown quickly.

It’s good to see that Taribo West’s barber is still going strong

Yep. He’s a right pretentious arse.

That’s good news - is the source reliable?

'I can't believe they've made it': overrated players
TheBrownBottle replied to toon25's topic in Football
I’ll join you with that one. Chelsea’s team was set up to make the most of his strengths and hide his obvious weaknesses. It’s why he was painfully exposed in an England shirt. The question was always asked ‘why can’t Lampard and Gerrard play together?’ The answer was - they weren’t intelligent enough to do so, and neither should have been picked ahead of Paul Scholes. -
Not quite. The length of Trippier’s new contract doesn’t come into it. And he’s only been here two years - his previous fee is still being amortised. Also, the ‘head room’ as Eales called it doesn’t create anything like £240m worth of transfer availability. If we allow for Trippier going for £15m, that would mean £15m - c.£5m (outstanding amortisation). So that would be £10m. We then knock £100k off the wage bill. Any new players coming in would likely have wages of a similar level - let’s say you want to bring two in. So that’s £200k p/w plus signing on fees. That would be at least an extra £2m in the current FY (season). You’re down to £8m, comfortably. Allowing for amortisation over two five year contracts, that would mean you might be able to buy two £15-20m players off the back of the deal - at a push.

I know this doesn’t help, but I had all of them taped from 93/94 through to 98/99. They’ll likely be in a dump somewhere in Northumberland at the moment - wish I’d kept them and transferred them to digital

I bet you get all this ‘ooh MrRaspberryJam, you’re a brilliant poster, but you’re stuck on N-O, while there’s Pixelphish getting all the laughs’

Cracks me up like a daft lad when I read this. Gets me every time. Their fucking droopy accents are comedy gold

Beale’s had just over a month in the job. That’s more than enough time for the loyalist and most patient supporters in world football.

A 45 yard shot just left of centre of the goal - the keeper was watching it like a spectator

‘The journey’ can’t take ‘the mountain’, grasshopper. I was red belt black dan - l’ll tek yee.

Not for me. Lots of Nick Hornby-lite pieces for me. Each to their own, of course. I just find that misty-eyed football writing bores me.
-
(I also can’t picture Kimmich joining)
-
Also, can’t Kimmich play RB too? So Tino would have cover if needed
-
I mean, I wouldn’t. But I’d be over the moon if he did. Would be some signing that one.

If it’s a swap deal then that suggests that this is 100% Howe’s call. I’ll happily back the manager if it happens - Trippier has been costing us game after game the last couple of months. Maybe he knows something that others don’t?

I chinned Bill Cliff once mind, and broke more house bricks than him. I’ll take your Jin ti an do style

I was thinking we’d be having to get on the blower to Manquillo and to persuade him to come back to Tyneside, like we did with Ferdinand when we flogged him to Spurs

Don’t make the mistake of the laughter of hate

It’s alright, MrRJ created a mock-up tweet. It wasn’t a real one - the rumour mill is toppling over into just plain silliness at this point.

“Jackett has been on PIF’s radar for sometime, with sources confirming that the Saudi owners of Newcastle were impressed by the record points haul he achieved in the third tier with Wolves a decade ago”
