  1. Christ almighty, NUFC Twitter really is a fucking dumpster fire, isn’t it? That’s one of a few Adam P videos I’ve watched, and he doesn’t half talk a load of shite, all while defending himself from a completely unnecessary attack from a vile drunk (whose surname he somehow cannot pronounce) Adding Wraith into that mix … fuck me. Embarrassing cunts
  2. Despite continuous tiresome claims to the contrary, the existence of the monarchy - as well as celebrating or commemorating it - is overtly political. It’s got nowt to do with me what WF chooses to put together for their displays, but I’d hope that it is understood that any flag re the monarchy is a political statement. Slippery slope and all that.
  3. When the last one popped his clogs (George VI), he died at 7:30am. We played Spurs that afternoon and the country was well aware that he’d died. Right bunch of wet blankets this country has become. Isn’t ‘Vivat Rex’ meant to be the cry? (For monarchists, anyhow)
  4. No, we played Arsenal away in the cup a couple of days later. There was the usual pre-match silence. I was down there. Sort of wish it was cancelled, we were shite.
  5. That would be utterly ridiculous. How many days off work do most people get when their granny dies?
  6. As good as we could have got on a free as a back-up tbh. Not a terrible signing by any stretch.
  7. It’s daft, and it’s taken my fix for the weekend - but we should be getting a day’s public holiday at least. And hopefully a vote on the monarchy at some point soon. Can’t imagine George VII (or whatever Charlie’s regnal name ends up being) being overly popular
  8. I hope all who have travel and accommodation sorted in London this weekend get refunds, in the way that I didn’t when Liverpool away was cancelled for Diana. Never understood that one - I’m sure it was rugby she liked. Or was that rugby players?
  9. They cancelled Liverpool away when Diana died, I’m guessing same for Queenie. Sorry for those who are genuinely upset about all this, but the first thing that popped into my mind is that it gives Bruno, ASM and Wilson an extra week to recover. And maybe a Bank Holiday for us too (even here in Oz)
  10. If BHA hit an extensive bad run of form then Potter is just as likely to be shown the door as he would at most clubs (though Chelsea are not most clubs). Football history tells us that the 'flavour of the month' managers - often touted as the next big thing - can disappear just as quickly as they're started being talked about as the next England manager. I'm not necessarily saying Potter is - but he could be. If I was Potter, I'd take the fucking massive payday off those horrible fuckers and back myself to win a trophy or two before the inevitable sacking in a couple of years time when you haven't deliverable the most entitled club on planet Earth a quadruple or whatever. It's not like he'll fail to get another job at PL afterwards. Who knows, he could even make them less dislikeable. Doubt it though.
  11. Though it has to be remembered that Liverpool struggled on the season after he left, having to make to with winning the European Cup.
  12. And the relative quality of the rest of L1? Tuchel had a 75% win ratio with PSG and got the tin tack the year before …
  13. Yep. Why give the angry radgie quarter of a billion to chuck seemingly randomly at players then sack the cunt a week after his final signing
  14. Yep. The whole 'romantic' notion of Leicester's rise has been one of the biggest load of bollocks in football. They've been funded by a billionaire owner, who got his money from a lucrative monopoly awarded by a dictator. The inevitable fall back to Earth is underway. At some point, you'd think the socially conscious football press who've incessantly called out NUFC's ownership would ask questions such as; how does one become a billionaire in a poor country run by an absolute monarchy? If your answer is 'hard work and business acumen', your answer may be incomplete ...
  15. Yep, it is the obvious lack of consistently which exposes these chancers. It is why only stupid twats would abuse Amnesty for asking questions re human rights abuses / sportswashing, and only even stupider twats would listen to Holt, Panja, Glendenning or Delaney and their righteous quest to flag up such issues re NUFC. There are some with genuine concerns re these issues, and others where it is an easy way to have a pop at a club or area that they don't much like.
  16. I think he's one of the most important Spanish managers of the last 100 years
  17. Tbf I’m not convinced that a lot of former pros understand the laws of the game either; whenever the term ‘common sense’ confidently leaves their mouths, you know that it’ll be immediately followed by them arguing against the laws of the game. That could just be the punditocracy though
  18. The amount of previous Mason has is further proof to me that this isn’t conspiracy - it’s incompetence. The PGMOL is one big boy’s club - any action taken is to momentarily diffuse criticism rather than actually improve standards. Mason isn’t going to learn - and he fundamentally doesn’t understand the game he’s watching. Proper reform is required - but it won’t come.
  19. No, it’s taken an actual quote, then added a lie to the end of it. I don’t think there is a giant refereeing conspiracy against NUFC. I just think shit, cowardly referees make shit, cowardly decisions.
  20. The monkeys aren’t changing any time soon mate - the issues aren’t going away.
  21. No issue with disagreeing, but rugby isn’t a pyramid, and is stop-start. The decisions aren’t getting any better at all - and the drama is stripped watching a prat in green watch a telly on the touch line.
  22. Problem is, the quote is fake.
  23. PS I don’t think there is a conspiracy at all. Just shit refereeing standards.
