  1. No. Remember when we had Joelinton playing out of position as striker? He scored as many or more goals with more assists than Wood. And that was under Bruce. If we sign a forward who can cover striker, we will be much better off. I like Chris Wood and think he can help Forest stay up. His time was up at Newcastle.
  2. Don't hear much about our interest in him anymore. Seems like he would be a very good transfer for us.
  3. If the opinion was that he is not a number 9, that opinion was correct. I hope we sign someone who can play lw so we can keep him in the midfield.
  4. Kudus as AM or winger? Marcus Edwards looks really good too although he's a bit short and seems to like the right side.
  5. Bring in a midfielder that can put Longstaff on the bench and a winger that can score and cover striker.
  6. Trossard seems perfect except for the age of 28.
  7. Still more important to get a midfielder or someone who can play across the three forward positions than another striker despite the Wood news.
  8. would much rather we sign one very good midfielder than this group of castoffs. Sure they would help with Bruno out but i'd just assume roll with Willock and Longstaff in the long run. We know they fit and are not attitude problems. also no need to help Chelsea out of their mess.
  9. He actually played striker for them yesterday. Seems like more of an AM.
  10. ASM not likely to score a lot and will Isak be that much of an improvement over Wilson? He's certainly necessary with Wilson's injury history. Would like to see Joelinton play in midfield rather than lw too.
  11. Our defence is outstanding and our attack not so much but still good. Seems like forward or midfield for the January window.
  12. Seems like this was an ideal setup. With ASM's future in question, I wonder if a lw is a priority. Is Joelinton best at lcm or lw? I would say lcm.
  13. Salary Sport has Targett at £79,000, which is much more likely.
  14. What would Tielemans be willing to accept for salary? He is £120,000/week the same as Bruno and Isak. Also, why are we paying Targett £100,000 to sit on the bench?
  15. ASM sounds like he has a positive attitude to me. Having him up front make our front three AND midfield better. He will start this afternoon and score. https://twitter.com/asaintmaximin/status/1611027993975037953?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1611027993975037953|twgr^d59b1816dddd1128d6c382d2de604fd31965eb3b|twcon^s1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.chroniclelive.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Ffootball-news%2Fallan-saint-maximin-newcastle-united-25907493
  16. 10 appearances 260 minutes. He's only had a minor hamstring injury that had him out a few weeks. Seems like Anderson out on loan, new CM in, and Shelvey out in the summer would be the plan.
  17. Our biggest needs are someone to cover for ASM and Miggy, a midfielder, and cover for Trippier. Signing a forward means they are behind ASM and Miggy and won't transform the team much unless there is an injury. rb for trippier isn't going to play much. a midfielder could plug in right away and Joelinton, Tielemans, Bruno > Joelinton, Longstaff, Bruno and it also solves an injury problem. If Shelvey starts two more times, he triggers his next year's contract. While he has been with the club for a long time, he just cannot be in the long term plans for a championship seeking club. It is possible to buy a forward that puts ASM or Miggy on the bench but how much would that tranform the team? I think the much bigger gap lies between Tielemans and Longstaff (or Willock if you like). We simply don't need Shelvey next season. Would really love to see two bargain purchases: Tielemans in the midfield and Cody Dramah as cover for Trippier. Both players want out and both clubs risk running down those contracts.
  18. Shelvey out before Longstaff.
  19. We need to improve over him but Shelvey should be the first midfielder to go. Once we replace him, Longstaff will be a bench player.
  20. Would be nice if it allows us to not trigger Shelvey's contract clause and finally be rid of him this summer. His salary is not too bad and he is about the same age as Shelvey so would not add much in terms of wages and age to the squad.
  21. Don't forget Tielemans. He is out of contract this summer and would be cheap. Arsenal trying to get him in.
  22. That's the problem. March will see Liverpool with an abundance of similar players in the front line looking for minutes. Seems like Gakpo might have been better suited to play the left wing for NUFC especially at that price (with some cover at striker and right wing too). ManU fans saying they need a true striker not a left wing. Some truth to that i think. Liverpool front line crowded with needs in their midfield. I think we are going to be conservative in this window meaning no big purchases; just some cover.
