you make some good points but the affordability thing is imposed by the (No) Gambling Commission who don't understand their remit or purpose as defined in the Gambling Act and as highlighted by the National Audit Office. I have skin in the game for transparency - and stake factoring / limiting I agree has gone too far but you want to look outside of the big boys (Bet Uk whilst they were Newcastle founded are now owned by MGM who acquired LeoVegas Gaming PLC) and find a niche punter friendly bookie. DM me if you want.

surely Marxism would have some answers to a government he perceives that are “sticking it up them everyday”…

be a better atmosphere in the Dolphin though .. and you might meet Terry Mac’s brother …

Good - it’s old hat now

I don't think there's anything wrong if they do - but they should only include loyalty pints gained in last year or two to reward recent attendees. Whatever the criteria you'll never get 100% agreement and demand will easily outstrip supply
-
least they wont be calling Brian Blessed for his opinion this year

Prob start with ST who attended either Forest or Arsenal (A) as it should. Then ST with X points and cup scheme and so on

“sometimes the complaints will be false”

Was an entertaining game but most of the players on the field would be shown up in the premier league. It’s been said before but why do they (lower league sides) keep trying to play from the back when their players (defenders in particular) lack the touch and composure to do so.

Rangers and Celtic are great when they’re away (especially v a team south of the border). If you’ve ever been to an old firm have its day and night from what they were like in the 80s and Celtic at home against anyone else is similar to palace imho - the green brigade stop but most of the rest if the ground is quiet. Been to more Celtic games than Rangers but assume there the same against st mirren and Kilmarnock etc

“ Incroyable” surely

plus VAT I think - sure mine was £225. Compare that to Birminghams offering for us (which they’ve hiked up as it’s obviously a high profile game for them )2 course meal and free drink! I enjoyed it (the barracks) but as you say it wasn’t VfM - most of the people in there (those that I know) are small businesses putting it through the books rather than wealthy individuals.
-
I bought myself a ticket to the barracks as a birthday present. The next day the club rang me to see how I found it and would I like more corporate tickets. The lad on the phone was dead canny but I thought bit was telling it’s the only time the club have ever called me for feedback when I’ve had a ST for over 33 years and 400+ LP. They’re desperate to create a demand for hospitality that won’t be there until we’re winning silverware regularly (and even then we just don’t have the draw that London or NW clubs have). That’s not a bad thing imho (it makes us, us) but given restrictions it’s another thing that will impede our rise to the top.

They may ask the trust but let’s hope they consult the members should this happen .

I think someone is linking the wearing of doc martins to a stereotypical lesbian (apologies if I’m wrang). I think in the mackems defence they’re actually linking it to a left wing “Millie Tant” stereotype…

Where is it - doesn't feature on the news section of their website?

He’s getting married soon. My mother in law recently died and it was her funeral yesterday. The parish priest came round beforehand to organise the service and yes chatting to me and my lass and tells he he’s going to the match. I ask him where he sits and he says he’s in a box .. I ask him who’s and he tells me Jacob Murphy as he knows the family as he went to school with his mam in Birtley many years ago and she’s still goes to mass and has kept in touch. He then mentions he’s doing Jacob’s wedding soon. Anyway after he’s left . The bairn (9 years old) comes down the stairs and I say guess what “Father David’s marrying Jacob Murphy”.. he then pauses for a few seconds and replies “ Jacob Murphy’s gay??” 🤣🤣 obviously I’d used an outdated turn of phrase but it’s telling that he didn’t question the priests life choice! obviously this is highly irrelevant to the topic - but I thought it was canny funny.

they have goal line tech in the premier league and the championship

Opens the vocal cords doesn’t it - it’s why opera singers or rockstars stand . Aye you can sit on a stool if you’re a lip syncing xfactor / boyband winnit but you need to stand to belt out a tune properly

I have never noticed that - not that we sing it much these days - when did that change ? Maybe due to more supporters not seeing the team as standing for the city and its people beyond purely football... Or just younguns and their lazy speech.. though having said that the average age of our crowd must impact on the atmosphere - I am 44 and am a youngun in the back of the Gallowgate (mebbes theres a few Luke Littleresque lads who just look 20 years older than their biological age but I think theres a lack of radge older teens and 20 somethings).

Batty was a very good player, but imho he disrupted the flow or the team and tactics more than Asprilla by taking Clarky out of the side - this I think contributed more than Tino (who actually won us games we wouldn't have - Boro away) to us "blowing" the title, albeit combined with Man U's astounding post xmas form and Schmeichel's performance v us.
