Can't see it, simply due to the way Eddie spoke of him when he first signed. Someone he's been keeping an eye on for a long time, and it sounded like Gordon knew that. I think Howe is actually chuffed to have him!

Hopefully at the very least what he said in his last interview regarding coming back really fit, will be the benefit of the u21 games. He's already had time with the team, so will have a decent idea of what is expected of him. U21 tournament could be done for him by the end of this month I believe, so potentially 45 days before the season starts. Any ideas for when our pre season starts training wise?

Technically he's not wrong though, because if we don't get CL the following season then we have definitely missed this early opportunity of offering CL football, if we haven't got in some players that are only looking at joining a club at that level. We're not an established CL team so best to go for the bigger names now, whilst we know we can offer it, which then further increases our chances of being able to offer it down the line imo.

We have to be careful how many players we get with an awful blonde haircut, as that will reduce our attractiveness rating. Good player though.
