I’ve thought that about sponsorship but it doesn’t make any sense. We didn’t even know Man City were going to lodge that legal challenge on the fair market value. So seems a bit odd we have waited for 2 full seasons of missed revenue off sponsorship deals. If we were hoping the fair market value was being removed, we could have just signed a 12 month deal to be renewed every year with renewed terms. That way we could have had this and last seasons £m from training gear sponsor, stadium and training ground. And then benefitted from any changes from the Man City challenge. however, it’s easy for me to criticise when I have fuck all idea what’s going on behind the scenes. But given genius Dan ashworth doesn’t know how emails work and tipped Garry Neville to be the next pep gaurdiola, it does make you wonder sometimes.

This is still the strangest part. If we are desperate with less than 35 hours to go, sell the stadium naming rights, training ground rights, our training gear has been sponsor less for 2 years now. something feels very off about all of this. We could even take that £3m for Daniel titchmarsh.

Thy lease the rights to the name as a legacy from Comcast. Similar with a lot of virgin branded products. Sky (Comcast) get paid from the betting revenues. sky bet are taking bids on where players will be in the future. I think it’s unlikely that sky are driving fake news to boost betting mind, as their deal for naming won’t be performance based. More likely for skys (Comcast) own ad revenue. The Jan window has prob worried a few people across the media. Sky/talksport transfer deadline day both ended up focusing on Hamilton changing cars or whatever.

I think it would more be a capacity issue for Howe. Doesn’t he already get to the office for 6/7am. Also a good idea to have resilience and consistency if Howe left for any reason.

I imagine Sean Dyche is the sort or marmite character you either flourish or sink under. given a confidence boost and some 1-2-1 time with our team/howe I could see him upping his game and stats. I’m sure they have throughly quizzed gordon on him too. however, in the last year of his contract £37m or even £25 is crazy. £15/20m would have been a really interesting signing to improve the squad.

So elite teams get long sleeve away but not home? Then why have arsenal and manure got long sleeve home kits? Flamengo who are also quoted as being elite by several websites get long sleeve home, but not away and not on adidas.com it doesn’t seem consistent at all.

Having a look at what kit we have vs others, it looks like we have the same type of range as Fulham/Leicester/leeds rather than manure and arsenal. Real Madrid seem in another level to them again. although not all of our stuff is launched yet. maybe we are elite, but it’s the equivalent of sitting in first class next to the toilet and you don’t have a window. Although everything so far has been pretty good, not complaining.

I suppose it’s all a money driven thing. If they were making us bespoke kits it would mean it would eat into profits and eat into the £30-40m a season we’re getting. while it would be nice to have something really individual, just changing the colours on their template machines and running them 24/7,or even better just changing the badges suits the money men.

It’s been discussed on the kit thread. No idea of its right or wrong, but someone said the photo shoot was done when he was abroad getting treatment. Although you would think they could do it at a later date.
