Whatever else, the team has shown great mental strength in the past two games. In both they could easily have crumbled but had the force of will to recover and get the results (however tight they were!) Obviously a bit of my reaction is the fact that we won them, but I do think it's encouraging. We didn't give up and I'm happy about that.

I'd forgotten about their bullshit penalty. It only happened about an hour ago. Showed some good fight to get the win there like. -

Feel like I've run a marathon, also in the doghouse for scaring the shit out of my wife when the winner went in. -
Newcastle United 2-0 Crystal Palace (04/01/26) | post-match from pg. 43

There was a great moment from Miley in the first half, just near our box with two palace players closing him down, he did a pretty simple skill with a change of direction to get out of it, went past them and started an attack - looked so composed and fluid. He's really benefited from this run in the team, his confidence seems much higher and he's letting himself excel. A real bright spot. The game overall was quite scrappy, though I think we were decent and had some excellent moments. Be great if this was the start of a longer winning run. -

That was a much better showing. We should have won and can feel unlucky not to have done so. -

Surely this is on? Feels like this wins or loses it for us (yes I'm bed wetting) -
I think what's most galling is that they were actually shite. We were just significantly shiter. What a waste of time.

I was looking forward to derbies returning cos I didn't think we'd still play in them like we did under Ashley, but alas...

That is completely mad. What on earth?

Weird game so far. They're doing the type of pressing that can really hurt us and then being really ponderous and indirect when they win the ball. We're... Not sure what we're doing. Doesn't seem to be much of a plan and we keep losing the ball in the brief moments we regain it. Hard to predict 2nd half.

Aaron Ramsdale: return to Southampton confirmed

Feels like between Ramsdale and Pope there exist the elements of one good goalkeeper. -
He takes a cracking penalty. Signs of him getting into his stride yesterday, hopeful he continues improving.

Genuinely impressive stuff from Leeds TBF. Just kept coming back in to it.

Newcastle United 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur (02/12/25) | post-match from pg. 46

Disappointed to concede from the world's slowest bicycle kick. We were dominant for most of that but I didn't think we really looked like scoring. Weird game, felt quite flat. Spurs had zero threat really so very annoying to concede 2. -
He showed a lot of his qualities in this match, a mix of good hold-up work, linking the play, creating space and some dangerous shots. His goal was just lovely, great technique. I've been impressed with him since he joined but I thought this was a really complete performance. Also he seems so likeable.

He's got the lovely double effect of being brilliant and also stopping us having to play Burn in his spot. Really important player for us. Spent the first half getting confused between him and Barnes because they kept ending up in the same attacking positions, makes the left side very dangerous. And the cross for Thiaw was a gem. He's gonna keep getting better too!

Love this guy. There was a moment near the end where he trapped Pickford's long kick with such sweet control to play it back to Ramsdale - a tiny moment in a great performance but really emblematic of his quality.

This has been a banging performance. Big wins imo: *Miley looking relaxed and responsible *Thiaw being awesome *Big Joe putting in an old school performance *Scoring from a corner *Keeper who can kick the ball *Not being terrified every time the opposition has the ball -

Really nice from Elanga, delighted to see it. Great anticipation and then a first time pass. And Big Nick... lovely stuff. -

Ok my earlier post was hopeless optimism. Don't understand what we're doing or trying to do. Hopeless. -

I don't think we've been anywhere near as bad as against West Ham, and Brentford are better than them. We haven't been good but we had at least one nice passage of play through the middle, and we've scored, taking the improvements as wins
