What % of his training time do we estimate he spends working on his distribution, and what % do we think he should spend? Of course, the coaches know best etc etc., but he really is very weak in this area, it's noticeable in most games how uncomfortable he is with the ball at his feet. PS, I'm not bashing him before anyone gets excited after the past few days on here lol, he's a great shot-stopper and a very good goalkeeper, I'm mainly just curious about what people think his approach to improving in this area as it's surely something he works on.
  2. I got the same group as well (albeit on one of the 5 times I did it haha) Got Real, Bayern and Braga on another.
  3. I thought this also, seems they can be in pot 3 or 4 depending on how the playoff games go.
  4. Go big or go to Dublin group Bayern Munich Real Madrid Rangers / PSV Eindhoven Great trips with the Geordies taking over group Benfica Atletico Madrid Red Bull Salzburg Top spot for the Toon group Feyenoord RB Leipzig Celtic Of these 3 the top one is just too much fun not to route for it Buzzing this is only a week away, gunna be sooo fucking good!
  5. Arguing about how you rate the window seems pretty absurd given the 10-point rating system is flawed. One person's 7/10 is another person's 9/10, it really doesn't matter! People can have different ways of making their judgement to reach a rating, it's standard for most I think to class 7/10 as average, which obviously for an average between 1-10 doesn't actually make sense. Personally, I think rating it 10/10 is illogical as that would imply it couldn't have gone any better whereas I feel it's gone roughly as I would've expected given our current situation. If you want to judge it based on the Ashley years then sure it's fucking amazing obviously, 11/10 etc, but maybe others are just judging it based on what expectations were when the season ended, and on that basis, I don't think 7/10 is that unreasonable or demanding or self-entitled. I would probably rate it 8/10, with 7/10 being average, It's been a good window, we've done our business pretty efficiently and won't be panic buying on the last day, plus I like all of the signings we've made. I don't think someone else is a twat though if they aren't convinced by Barnes, or they are worried about Livramento's injury, or they feel we should've strengthened other positions.
  6. Possibly it's down to the media/Sky highlighting Bruno a lot, I just don't think it's a good way to lead by example to be making weak excuses about not getting a penalty, that was no way even comparable to the Wolves one, after putting in such a poor 2nd half performance, think that's very weak-minded and not what I'd want to see from Trippier. Regardless of the media, he very clearly is often moaning and whinging on the pitch when things aren't going well, don't think what @buzza said can even be debated, there are just so many examples of it, you can of course interpret it how you wish though
  7. @Froggyinterested in your thoughts on Bruno as captain? I'm certainly biased as I think he's genuinely the most dislikeable player in the league, but, think his message after the game asking for an apology for the penalty shout after putting in such a poor 2nd half performance as a team speaks volumes for him and his character. Your recent away record against top-half teams has to be a big concern for your ambitions this season, and the general perceived lack of leaders. It's early days for sure but given the level of competition outside of City for the other CL spots I'd be worried if I was a Man Utd fan.
  8. Suggesting Liverpool "schooled us" was clearly going to get a reaction besides the rest of the message. So it's reasonable to claim that was provoking/trolling, especially given it's wholly inaccurate.
  9. We were always going to have to be pretty much at our best to get a result tnite and we weren't. One huge positive is even though we were a little off it we still kept ourselves in it and lost by 1 goal to the best team in the world. As said, Botman and Schar absolutely class. Foden sadly also was top. Let's fucking batter Liverpool next weekend, huge game to come.
  10. Ok, but then as I said in my follow up message at no point did I suggest it shouldn't be criticised so no idea where you're coming from with that? You implied I lack empathy for other human beings which seems a bit out of line given I didn't state anything of the sort.
  11. Your response doesn't really seem at all appropriate to what I wrote as I didn't state at any point that it shouldn't be criticised? Nor did the person I was quoting. You've also made up a quote that I didn't write or even imply which seems odd when directly replying to my post so not sure if you misread my message, misquoted it or just went off on a tangent?

  13. I'm not too fussed about missing out here, never seemed like the links were that strong. As has been said numerous times and is very evident, the media have no clue who we are signing. We are about to wrap up a €70m signing ourselves and have plenty of time to go in the window, let's wait and see who we bring in instead.
  14. This! No desire to defend the indefensible, but many people are sadly heavily influenced by Western media, and much of that media is extremely hypocritical and ignores many of the despicable things done by governments and countries in the West, including our own.
  15. Lock this up and then sign Szoboszlai (22)/Maddison(26), which is very realistic, or an alternative on that level to those two: Gordon - 22 Botman - 23 Isak - 23 Tonali - 23 Willock - 23 Bruno - 25 Longstaff - 25 Big Joe - 26 Maxi - 26 FUCKING EXCITING team we're building for the years ahead, and will highly likely be more additions this Summer. Great if we get our big signings done early as well which is looking likely. LFG!

    England

North Macedonia knocked Italy out of the WC playoffs and beat Germany away in the qualifiers for the last World Cup, so it's not like they're just complete mugs. 7-0 is an impressive result and it was a very good performance, nothing to get too excited about though for sure, we have a great record in qualifiers in recent times, and a very poor record against top 10 ranked sides, we need to address the latter if we're going to win a major tournament.
  17. Just focusing on the current state of both clubs, Kane is 4/6 to stay at Spurs on Betfair, if he leaves I think we are clearly a much more attractive proposition than them, Spurs could very easily finish in the bottom half next season if he goes. If Kane stays, and they recruit well, and Postecoglou does well in the Premier League then we will likely compete vs each other next season, that's a lot that needs to go well for Spurs to be on our level next season. Of course, no Europe will be beneficial for them, but I wouldn't think that would be a positive for a player deciding to sign.
  18. I would have basically zero doubt Maddison would be great for us, he's a top top player. 40m in todays market would be a great signing.
  19. Debate is good for sure, merits to who we should sign etc, but 10+ pages of arguing about signing Messi or 30 pages about how shit McTominey is or umpteen pages about some bullshit story thats clearly clickbait such as our budget being 75m are just a few examples that I was referring to. I'm obviously not a regular here and not personally targeting anyone, I dont know anyone here to have any bias and everyone's free to post whatever they want, just sharing my own perspective from someone who spends majority of my time on this forum on this specific thread to find out info others have and find out more about players I dont know so much about, and maybe even make a post or two of value myself (First one will be provided soon hopefully )
  20. It really is nuts how much negativity and arguing there has been in this thread, especially since the season ended. FFS our transformation from being basically guaranteed relegated to top 4, and a cup final to go with it, in such a short space of time is mental. Sure, if you got worked up about us not making top 4 when it was basically locked up, I could get that, but anyone who's not got a big fuck off smile on their face now whenever they think about our club, sadly you'll probably just never be happy! I couldn't really care less if we sign Barella, sure I got excited like everyone else when I saw the rumours and I don't understand why anyone would stop themself from enjoying that, because thankfully we know for absolute certain that if we don't sign him we definitely will be signing multiple other players who are going to improve this team and help us kick on for the years ahead. Eddie Howe has came in to our club, embraced everything we are about, and its probably fair to say he literally hasn't put a foot wrong in, every aspect of being a football manager for our club, he's nailed it. So if he decides signing McTominey will make us a better team, I'm with him, if he wants to bring in Maguire, I'm with him, I highly doubt we will sign either of them, and I'd be very confused with either decision, but if they think that's the right option for us I'm absolutely certain Eddie Howe and those around him have the best interests of our club at heart when making those decisions, so I'll support them 100%. Naturally with forums there's always clashes in personalities, people who dont like each other, cliques etc, but it's pretty amazing how active this forum is when most are dying or gone because of social media, props to everyone for that, and surely we can just enjoy whats to come this Summer when we haven't had it so good for so long. 76 days and counting until the window shuts and we'll be looking forward to games vs the very best in Europe, I'm gunna love sweating every day from now til then knowing WE HAVE GOT OUR FUCKING CLUB BACK!!!
  21. I was saying we'll be clear favourites mate
  22. Villa we'll be clear favourites, Liverpool we'll likely be slight favourites, Brighton will be priced up very even, and playing City early could be a good thing as well. Sure could've been a softer start but we're fucking good! Love the half 5 Saturday kick off at home to start as well.
  23. This would be some start to the window, everything crossed!
  24. FYI anyone planning to go to the club shop to get champions league badge your best off going on a morning as they stop doing it at a certain point in the day.
