He's the highest paid manager in their history.

Yeah noticed that as well, crazy strength in depth.

Maguire was 1/4 and shorter odds than BDB to make it earlier today so it's not that reliable. Would absolutely love too see Big Dan Burn get in the squad, think he will, Tuchel likes him. Sky Sports saying he's guaranteed - https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/13546249/england-world-cup-squad-announcement-thomas-tuchels-no-10-dilemma-harry-kanes-deputy-and-the-16-guarantees

This is not specific to Pope at all, but the credit keepers get for making "great saves" that I actually think it's harder to not save them is so odd to me? The overhead kick for example yesterday, it's in the middle of the goal? He'd have to literally deliberately pull his arms out of the way to not save it? Sure you can give credit for the reaction time, but he's a Premier League goalkeeper, it wasn't like the overhead kick was a bullet at him ffs, it's the most bog standard save to me and there's so many of them that Keepers get undeserved credit for as making "great saves". I think even his biggest supporters have now realised he needs replacing as a priority, he'll go down as a Legend for the Cup Final alone, and rightly so. If he wants to stay as #2 great, if wants to go, good luck to him.

I'm not going to quote people directly as I've no interest in the likely commotion that will follow. Just to highlight to one instance, someone said something along the lines of he's not good enough to manage any top club in the league and if he loses his job he will at best get a job at Fulham. I not only think this is disrespectful, but also just plain wrong. If you dont think that's even vaguely disrespectful then we have a very different line on what constitutes disrespect.

One hugely important factor in all of this is confidence and momentum. Almost every player in these past few games looks devoid of any confidence whilst momentum in any sport is huge, we have zero positive momentum, a ton of negative momentum, and it's telling on the pitch. In the past when we've had blips Eddie's been quick to turn the tide and stop those mini rots, this past few months sadly he hasn't managed to achieve that. Do I think we should sack him for that? No I don't. Do I think he's lost the dressing room? No I don't. This period we are going through now has happened to much better teams then ours, were a bad spell spirals into a bad season. Liverpool's title winning side under Klopp being one of many examples. Howe gets bashed for being too rigged with the system, can anyone give examples of managers who ripped up the system past half way through the season to try and turn results around? I literally cant think of one example, these are top managers in one of the most successful leagues in the world and they arent doing it that I can recall. He also gets bashed for playing the same team, this is just factually not correct, just check the lineups this season. I'm pro Howe, I want him to stay, that's not to say I don't think he's made mistakes this season, nor does it mean I think he's close to perfect, he's not. One huge gripe I have with those who are Howe out is the disrespect shown from some. I'm not going to make direct examples of it, but there's a lot of it in here and I think its disgraceful. This is a man of the utmost class, grafts his arse off day in day out for the club, not one person would question his effort to the cause. If you want him out fine, but show him the respect he fucking deserves!!!

See you did it already I interpreted it the same way.

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe on the availability of Bruno Guimaraes this weekend: "There is a chance [he could play]. We have seen him in training and he is pushing really hard to be back involved. "The medical team are trying to hold him back... I say hold him back, there's always that tug because the player is desperate to play and I love that with Bruno. "I'll make a decision based on what I see in training today but there is a chance."

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

That's Ekitike's fault? Warrants revelling in seeing a player get a serious career threatening long term injury? -

Winning a trophy, as amazing as that was, doesn't give Eddie a lifetime pass, and he knows that. However, I personally find it very difficult to not give goodwill to a man who represents the club impeccably, grafts his arse off 1st in last out everyday, and is clearly a top manager. He deserves our support, hes earnt it, he should get the Summer to fix things and if its the same next season then as sad as it would be, for some, he would probably have to go.

Those raging about this realise there's a difference between "doesn't want to" and "wont", right? There's nothing to suggest hes refused to play on the right! Gordon has specifically stated he doesn't feel he plays as well on the right. If I was the manager I'd want a player to be honest about that and not play them in a position they dont feel confident to play. This is such a non story, unless you want to hate on him of course! There's so much narrative twisting to suit an agenda, and the constant vilification of various players for made up reasons, or for playing a couple of bad games, it's really fucking poor, and shit support. Hilariously, many of those same people also expect unwavering loyalty from the players whilst calling them every name under the sun when they aren't perfect, we should be better!

Will join again, guess best wait until next weekends fixtures to give people chance to enter.

Isn't our record at Wembley fantastic? And away support is right up there. Have to say it feels absolute nonsense to suggest it's a factor in results/performance.
-
Yeah, nice for Sandro, but it's the last thing we want
-
You guys honestly think his attitude and application is as bad as your suggesting and Howe would let him be anywhere near the club? There's literally no chance, he'd be out the door.
-
Aye... La la la-la La la la-la Malick Thiaw Malick Thiaw Malick Thiaw, Thiaw, Thiaw Came from Milano To play with Sandro And he loves the fucking toon
-
Really surprised at the odds for this, we are 5/2, draw also 5/2, Arsenal 23/20. Don't usually bet on the result of our games, but feel we are too big a price here.
-
Not what I expect but what I'd do: Ramsdale Krafth Lascelles Thiaw Trippier Miley Hall Willock Elanga Osula Gordon Definitely wouldn't start Bruno or Joe, playing Elanga and Gordon to hopefully get them a goal or assist to get some confidence and momentum for the weeks ahead. Don't want to play Botman twice in 3 days just yet.
