He needs to play, world cup year, etc. Depending on the deal that is struck post 1 Sept eg: he can leave for Xm next year, or pay rise, there should be enough incentive for him to perform. There is very little loyalty in players these days. We're very lucky we have the likes of Bruno at our club. For most players, and I throw the rat in here, loyalty and commitment is bought.

Honestly, I am ready for Jackson now. He is for sale, has PL experience, good age and should not have the mental scarring of a Hojlund playing for Manure. And this should not be contingent on what happens to the rat. We needed a striker anyway. I suspect an issue could be that any striker we bring in now would want to know if they number 1 or backup to the rat, should he reintegrate. And that questions remains unanswered.

I would go for Jackson now at a reasonable price. Chelsea want rid so they can fund their other purchases so they won't want a protracted transfer with deadline day looming large. Not that I think Jackson is an amazing talent, it's that there is no other credible PL proven options out there. with Wissa, Brentford can drag things out for as long they can and increase the price along the way. They have no incentive to sell other than us going large on the fee which I doubt we would or should be doing. it might end up being one of Wissa or Jackson. If Brentford keep playing hardball and drag things out we may have to pivot to Jackson. As mentioned earlier, both would be going to Afcon.
