  1. Fair market value. So they cant block as such. But they can say that if we were getting 40 million (for the sake of argument) that not all of that would apply to the FFP calc. Given that this is a transaction between related parties. Edit so maybe pizza fella was right that it should have been Friday as we were waiting on the PL. EOW nothing happened and they closed shop for the weekend. And we just thought fuck them we want Barnes in the US. (I do have an active imagination. I also thought the hearse could be to promote a film. So my speculation matters little)
  2. My wild speculation. Stuck at the PL. We went ahead with Barnes as two fingers up the the PL saying we’d lose a target and we needed him in pre season so they were screwing us due to their slowness approving. Making it clear that that if they now reject ffp issues are due to them. I’ve pulled this from my arse but it would not surprise me. One thing we do know is that they are slow in everything they do.
  3. Wonder goals aside I’ve never seen much from tielemans. I think the lack of interest from the old school “big” 6 on a free and him starting from the bench for villa are somewhat telling. I think he’ll be decent for villa but I would not be surprised if he carries on being used a fair bit as a sub.
  4. After reading Gordon’s comments about the complexity of instructions from Howe a few things are kind of making sense - When he took over there was a slow start. A lot of this was fitness but it took time to get the players drilled on style - Bruno’s introduction to the team seemed to take a frustrating long time. Howe mentioned watching the team at the time to get up to speed - Gordon looking average since Jan, but significantly better for England Tonali is going to go through this (in probably the hardest position to integrate). We’re going to have move visibility of this though as he’s been signed at the start of pre season. So rather than on the training pitch he’s going to learn also in the warm up games. Gordon is also still going through it. Howe is also tweaking the system to try things out. It’s a shame the start of the season is so tough. A wobbly pre season and slow start could get some people on the backs of Tonali and Gordon. Also there will be ammunition for opposition fans to go fishing on Twitter. Personally I have no worries that they’ll both be excellent for us.
  5. Don’t get me wrong. By all probabilities I think it’s really unlikely he did it. But I just find it really hard to believe that a serious “gangster” would do it either. Something doesn’t sit right with me. The most likely reality is that a bunch of wannabe kids thought this was big time.
  6. A failed medical would screw quite a few things up. This feels like a bit like moving house in a chain.
  7. I get the murder attempts. Paint on houses, smashed windows, cars doing donuts isn’t particularly intimidating when you’re part of that world. For me and you sure scary shit sleepless nights. But for proper organised crime it just sounds a bit school boy. I’ve chatted a bit over the years with someone who married into this world. He didn’t talk a lot but the bits I got were staying away from attention was massive. When threats were needed they were generally face to face and when someone who potentially didn’t know what they were dealing with needed to be made aware. But equally I guess you get the kids in London now publishing music videos bragging and promoting themselves so what do I know.
  8. I assume nothing from someone who chooses to do this for self promotion. edit - credit to him to be fair. He’s managed to carve out a living from Newcastle shows, films, promotions etc. I have listened to a couple of the pod casts around the take over times and he does come across on those quite well. But his Twitter feed is almost constant self promotion of what he’s got going on. I have no clue whether last night was promotion or genuine threats. I just find the idea that a criminal gang would think the cars and threats was in any way a good idea unlikely.
  9. officer it obviously wasn’t me that did this for self promotion. They called me a nonce.
  10. This all seems a bit weird to me. If it is genuine feud between the “gangsters” of Newcastle this comes across as a bit small time. Driving a car into a football pitch dropping leaflets! I would have thought actual violence would be more likely. Why do something that just gets massive attention? Unless the attention should help promote something…
  11. Our ITK beat him by 3 minutes.
  12. This is where I'm at. I've watched about a minute of his vlog videos and was bored so turned off. Not my thing. But loads of younger people than me like this work of thing so fair play. The haters are way sadder in my eyes than what he is doing. Ever so often he does do a video that really makes me laugh. I cant tell if it's deliberate or not.
  13. It has all gone over my head.
  14. I don’t think it’s as simple as people make out when they say things like 30m in means we can buy 3 players for 50m over 5 years (as this year the cost of the 50m player is just 10m). This doesn’t take into account the following years accounts when 30m does not come in. I guess either commercial revenue needs to keep going up or players need to be constantly sold to make up for a short fall. I’m probably missing something though.
  15. "dribbling utter wank" ?
  16. FFP is 100% bullshit but we don’t appear to be maxing out our commercial revenue. We could have a training kit sponsor, training ground sponsor, ground sponsor etc. I was hoping this summer the far more commercial deals would have been announced.
  17. My only issue with asm is the combination of how much he changes our style and his injury record. Every time he comes back we need to adjust to him. When he gets injured it takes us a bit to adjust to be without him. I think everyone else in the team you can swap someone in. They may not be as good but the style remains.
  18. This summed up how I felt. Who was the last player we signed that you could say that sentence about? I've been really excited about this since Milanista posted his views of the player and how we would never sign him. Hearing a fan of the club you're signing the player from talk highly of a player is always a good sign!
  19. That he is ? there has been a few posts slagging off the NE press not breaking these stories but I’m going to have to back off. To continue my argument I’d have to be supportive of the other hairier melts like Ryder.
  20. Lots of slagging off of the local journalists but doesn’t that basically mean that we’re keeping things quiet and the leaks are at the other end? That’s a good thing right? edit: not saying Luke Edwards is not a cunt. edit 2: been drinking in the sun. I think by double negative is correct.
  21. I like the approach of doing the east stand first. I see it being something along the lines of if we get approval for this we get 61k, a stadium that can have an entire bowl look, potential to extend the gallowgate to add another 10k. If we can’t get approval then that will be decision time. Whether they accept only ever being able to extend the gallowgate at huge cost, or we move stadium. Moving would then be an easier sell to fans as they have tried everything to stay. They will be maybe in a better position. With the council to get approval for a site in the city “look we are trying everything we can to keep the match day income in the city, if you keep blocking things we have no choice”. Ultimately we all want a bigger stadium in the city, ideally St James extended to 70k plus. This feels like the best way to achieve that.
