  1. So having the ball at you feet with no goal keeper in goal is not a goal scoring opportunity ? comical. I’d like to see a better replay of the hand ball too.
  2. I followed him for a bit when he was getting the info. He came across like a bit of a knob.
  3. At some point they may well have done. I saw a similar traffic at around the half season point and it was very different. I’ve not given Xg much time in the past but I like this grafic for over a season. Like all stats as you step away and look overall it gets more accurate. Game by game you get cases where the xg does not match the reality of the game. I think ours is fair as, for the most part, when we won we deserved it. When we drew we were generally the better team. So actual is slightly below where we ended up. I would bet there is a correlation between entertainers/sexy football and good xg. I’d bet us under Keegan would have expected near the top and position maybe slightly below. Aladyce/Pulis could well be lower xg higher in actual table.
  4. Agreed. I watched a couple villa games before and after ours and they looked ok before us and poor after. They went on a fantastic run but were not blowing teams away. I think we could struggle against them as our system suits them. I think Villa and Brighton look very good against a team that wants to press, so we tend to see the best of them. The XG expected vs actual highlights this to a degree that we were where we “should” have been. Villa ended up higher than expected. Edit - having said that I think they’ve done well in the transfer window and playing and combining that with them playing in the conference I think they will end up above us this year.
  5. I’m away in Lanzarote so getting some different ads in twitter. This one keeps coming. I think we should make a chant out of it ? I’ve no clue what they’re saying but its catchy and I fancy a vodka and orange now.
  6. Isaks ability to get past a man is sublime, he does it whilst looking like he is doing so much less than what AGM did. AGM would drop his shoulders, fake left, fake right, do a pirouette and looked awesome doing it! Isak just draws a man close then his touch and turn of pace and he's 2-3m away from his man.
  7. I'd love to see a friendly between todays and tomorrows team.
  8. I hope we've been playing a pre season game of possum against the press. The games against Villa, Brighton and now today we've not been able to play through it. Last season we looked much better.
  9. That's my point. When there was no membership Liverpool fans went in the home end in mass. Because the tickets were on general sale. Now as least hey have the additional step of buying a membership. Closing the sale of the memberships at the season start would make it more difficult.
  10. Replace bloke and son with die hard away followers of one of the bigger clubs. 100% this happens. There was a game a few years back under Ashley where I think it was Liverpool fans and there were lots of issues.
  11. You’ll never completely stop it but I think membership is a decent battier to entry.
  12. I don’t have an answer for how to do fix it but I still don’t like the closed shop. For home games I’ve gone to 5-10 for the last 18 years. I moved away and I have kids. A season ticket would not work for me. Even now it would not. I don’t have one as I don’t want to go to every game. I am probably going to lose the ability to go to the games I used to. To a degree away games are the same. Just because someone has been in a position to go to every away game doesn’t make them some super fan to me. It maybe just means they don’t have kids, or a wife, or maybe have both but can afford it. Or maybe some one works shifts and can only do 1 every month. Not being able to go to any as you can’t go to all of them does not sit right to me.
  13. Me too. My wife got me both my mistake. She thought the international was for international games. I sent an email to the box office to cancel it but they ignore it.
  14. What happened to the man united take over, are they still negotiating? I didn’t really follow it after a while as it was hard to get past the speculation.
  15. away fans would get in the home end.
  16. ? the ability to get more people to away games is near impossible. I think what they have done is about right in putting some of the tickets in a ballot. The issue with the away allocation has been the years of abuse of the loyalty scheme by people always getting every ticket and selling them in the busses. For some games the people who run the buses would have 10’s of tickets selling them to who ever they could so they could get the points. I do hope that the club stick to their word and check the people who actually attend.
  17. the counter to this argument is when you’re lucky you get luckier. If you’re initially unlucky you get unluckier. I would personally like a membership scheme where over a season I am guaranteed a seat for at least 4-5 games even if it was then capped. I think on all fronts (home and away) we should be looking to get as many different fans in over the season. Where I would offer priority to say someone who has held a membership for 5 years vs 1 is for the bigger games. Loyalty does not necessarily equate to the number of games a persons financial position or geographical location allows them to attend. If they raised the base ticket price to £200 per game and a much smaller set of people could afford to go to every game would that make them better off or loyal? If some one is a fan living in Spain with a family who can only travel for 2 games a season but at a much bigger financial and time cost is he more or less loyal than some one jumping on a bus for 10 minutes? We are in a position where the ground is far too small for demand. The ability to get a ticket should not become an even more closed shop. I personally would also “never” release any more season tickets. If we increase capacity or when people do not renew put those into a the membership pool.
  18. I've said this before but I believe there should be scope in FFP for additional equity injection from owners if they can demonstrate that they are not milking fans. For example if our ticket price is £20, we have a waiting list for tickets and are sold out. If Arsenal are charging £100 for an equivalent ticket then £80 * 52,000 should be able to be injected. Until rules like this exist commercial revenue must be increased.
  19. Maybe even to keep last years queue would have cost money to implement due to the changes in the stadium. A few sections hove been tweaked (at least hospitality, safe standing). The stadium seat picker looked a piece of crap. I would imagine changing any of this would come at a cost. I'm not sure who wrote the web site. Maybe Ashley had his fingers in it ?
