  1. It's a very good result. Well done. You should do the rest of the team too. I assume your avatar is another of your caricatures?
  2. Trippier can't cope with CL and PL next season without breaking down at some point, fit as he is that is too many high intensity games. Personally I could see Howe willing to drop Tripps from a fair few PL games in favour of keeping him sharp for the CL. Also bear in mind the nature of reporting, 90effing% of it stems from speculation if not outright sensationalism. A further 'also', based on your "assessment of everything you've seen of Howe's management", - Howe has never, perhaps, felt he had a like for like replacement available. I'd suggest Livramento might have more energy than a 33yr old over the course of a season. I would not be at all surprised to see Tonali, for instance, taking a lot of our free kicks next season. There would be more opportunity for Livramento than you speculate in my opinion. We seriously don't know enough about Howe to make those judgements on the basis of a season and a half with a limited squad.
  3. Personally hoping he ain't wrong about this one then!
  4. First time for everything I guess. I'm a fan, but he's always been too inconsistent or erratic for me. His recent increase in defensive effort and releasing the ball better (thanks to coaching and his willingness to listen/learn) has certainly been an improvement but I'm far from convinced he can even make it at the top despite his skill and flair.
  5. How old are you? That's all I've got, if you don't think Robert deserves legend status you may be from a different planet - based on the answer to your age.
  6. Modified slightly.. When the Toon hits your place Like a fist in-yer face, that's Tonali When your team start to lose And you've drunk too much booze, that's Tonali. (I'll get me coat)

  8. Glad its not just me that thought that was a mental lineup. In fact I'd say there's no room for Maddison in that lineup, only the bench - you need a real right winger, and if we get the Szob, IF, I'm happy to stick with Almiron and Murphy for now in that position. Can't replace everyone in one season and the guys we have now know the system and are already part of the TEAM!
  9. This is the only picture I've seen that I thought - Ok, that's alright. Every other one looked AI generated or photoshopped, the black was blacker than the shirt, likewise the white - whiter than white. Made it look, what, unprofessional? As long as the black and white shades don't stand out from one another I'd say it's pretty cool. Or maybe it was all just the lighting and you'd never notice on match day.
  10. Oh Froggy.......................................
  11. Appreciate the response. I may be looking at media soundbytes and not paying enough attention.
  12. New guy here, but long time lurker. I wish this forum had a thanks button. Agree with a post and just thank it.. move on. FWIW I like Froggy and think he often gets a hard-time on here, but he does himself no favours sometimes. Ten Haag is already reminding me of Wenger, always complaining, deflecting and blaming. It's a 'poor me' syndrome that doesn't go down well with the more casual observers. Like his comment to the media after we did them 2-0 at St James. 'Newcastle played above their levels". We didn't - we played to our levels that was clearly shown in the stats over the season. Just another excuse. I do think he is a good manager, I just don't like his media persona of being the victim of circumstance. Steve Bruce understands this last sentence, vaguely. Edit: Cancel the thanks button, just discovered the 'Like' symbol.
