Assuming that tweet is 100% legit in its accuracy, not at the level Bruno expected, is everyone really comfortable with that? I love the guy and want him to have a great career but he has honestly done fuck'all yet. He already earns a fortune compared to the normal working man! Why does he need parity with the best players at other clubs, does he really think he is being shortchanged here? Fire us into Champions League places again next season and be vitally important to us through this season and then we can talk about breaking our wage structure, with all the knock-on effects that result from that. So I think that tweet is bullshit made-up crap. Bruno will sign an extension, with caveats attached. If the tweet reflects any element of truth then I would blame the agent?

Newcastle United vs. Aston Villa: 12/08/23 @ 17:30 (Sky Sports)

The thing about that game that concerned me the most, and I'm agreeing we were off the pace, is that there was no instruction from the bench to change thing - or - if there was it didn't work. Maybe Eddie had faith in his system that it would come good but it was apparent to me by half-time we needed to change something. Hopefully Eddie learnt something from that game and I am quite sure he did. I also wonder sometimes if that was a VERY important game to Emery, he wanted to win that one at any cost to send his own ego-driven message to the hierarchy at St James because the job fell through - for whatever reason it did. -

I'll be pleased if Buendía is not starting, the guy was very difficult to contain last game we played - albeit a friendly on foreign shores. -

I'd be surprised if Tonali starts, I think he needs more time to adjust to the pace and system. Much like Bruno was given at the start of his journey. Also feel it takes Longstaff a bit to get into the swing, at times today he was very sloppy and a bit off the pace similar to how he lloked when he came back last season, was that following an injury too? I'd go with Anderson but not 100% certain with him staying more right of centre, that said Joelinton can interchange with him easily enough. In Eddie we trust 'cos I know fuck all really. -
Newcastle 6 - 0 Rest of Europe Roll on Champions League.

Considering our xG last season was way higher than Leicester's I'd say Barnes has a good chance to get to double figures if he plays regularly. What I'm struggling to get my head around is the apparent depth we have now, very few are nailed on starters.

Looking forward to the day you are more than happy then. The young lad named 2023 Under-21 EURO Player of the Tournament has plenty time to change your mind.

That was a taster for Champions League and considering it was not our strongest team and a lot of the youngsters came on as subs I'd say it was a good showing. Taking a 2 goal lead to an away game in Europe is canny. Fiorentina were good, keeping possession for sustained periods and some tasty passing at times. They lacked a killer instinct up front going by that game though. Completely different team tomorrow also getting as close to 90 minutes as able. Roll on next Saturday, hope the groundsmen are as good as the team because the pitch is taking a pasting with the amount of games over two days.

Pretty fluid though, it morphs depending where the ball is on the pitch.

Yep, the speed Miggy was running at he either did very well or had a bit of luck. Isak rolled it into his path but I'm not sure how quickly Miggy saw it coming, he could have easily kicked it out of play by accident. (Or perhaps I'm thinking too much about what I would have done. ) Still finished it well. Gordon should have had a second. Missed the first 17 minutes hunting for a source. Cheers Rich for earlier post .

No idea why I am dreaming of a game 2.5 weeks before it happens (the dream was last week) but we won 1-0 in that event. -
Just because a team buys a new player, even a highly rated one, does not equate to an automatic team improvement. They may be slightly stronger, as a team, they may not. If every player bought automatically improved the team the premier league would have probably left the atmosphere by now. I don't recall Burn getting consistetnly rinsed by any attacker last season, now and again yes, but not throughout the 90m. I would agree we need more strength in depth, and especially more pace in defence, but I guess every hole needing darning can't get fixed in one window. The recruitment team will be doing their best within the limits being shoved in their faces, time will tell.

Whut? Feel free to elaborate.. -
Could we? Leaving the injury aside, and the potential for that to be an ongoing saga, I'm not sure we could. That fella is a top talent if he is injury free.
-
I assume a fanzone connected to the club would add to the revenue of the club, which we should all want to support? Or am I being naive?

I heard, don't quote me, the real reason Mbappe may well consider the Al Hilal offer is... the chance to play with a fellow compatriot aka St Maxisomethingorother. Might be bullshit, should probably ignore for now until more reliable sources confirm.
-
End of the day, social media just accelerates the bullshit to our attention. Newspapers used to get it wrong all the time too. Coz they were just making shit up also! The tip passed on from the merest whisper in some smoke filled pub from a guy that used to mow the lawn of the people that lived next door to a minor accountant at the club. Best solution is to ignore everything until the player arrives at the training ground. Then again, this place might be pretty quiet if we all did that.
