Fair, but still.. Looks like the chest. Even if it hits his shoulder. Is the shoulder handball now? Not even sure it touches the shoulder. Edit: It does hit the arm actually, but quite far up the arm. No idea where the limit is.
-
Firstly it didn't hit his arm at all. Secondly, even if it hit his arm, it comes off a different body part of his first no? And by todays rules that also means no handball? (open it on X for better quality)

Wilson again. (I'm late)

So every England manager who has won a qualifier has been a success? As they achieved the maximum that they could in the qualifier?
-
Crazy that he's very close considering the fact that he has had 5 acls since september.
-
True. It's also a transition phase for Elanga in a way. I'm sure he will hit some kind of form eventually, even if he doesn't become a huge success.
-
I agree about the final ball, that's how he got so many assists. To me he is a similar player type to Murphy. I think a Murphy compilation would look very similar to the Elanga compilations you can find. I actually think that Elangas attributes fits a lower possession team to a higher degree than Murphys attributes, but we haven't really seen Elanga in a team that tries to keep the ball yet (in the compilations I saw like 90% of the clips were counter attacks). So far, in the very limited time with us, Murphy has looked more effective when we are pushing for a goal higher up the pitch.
-
As discussed many times it looks more like a direct player who likes counter attacks than one who thrives in games where ball retention is the goal. That doesn't mean that his delivery isn't good. Murphys delivery is also fantastic, but he's also more of a direct player.

You mean his crossing?

Elanga was a strange tranfser if the goal was to better at keeping the ball. Such a huge transition required us to fully focus on players who can help us play like that.

I've heard enough. He's a Howe player.

He would do really well there. Still so much to pay for them.

Apparently his form hasn't been the best for Napoli this season? He's getting linked with a €70m move to Everton nowadays. A wild price for someone who turns 29 in december.
-
Last time they played in a WC was 11 years ago. Wild.

€6.5m. However "The transfer fee for changing from Newcastle United to Nottingham Forest can increase from €6.500.000 up to €10.000.000 if obligations are met." Who knows whether they were met or not.

I'm curious to see how active he will be in the build up going forward games where we create a lot of chances. He's great in the build up, but the more he drops deep, the less he will score. We need to find the right balance in how we use him in the 4-3-3.
-
What? What I said still stands, I don't understand how the international games changes any of it. If anything it strengthens my argument there. If that was what you meant.
-
I'm a bit more positive than this. But yes, some players in there will struggle with the pressure (CMs, defenders and goalie), and I'm also worried Solbakken will set us up to be too defensive against strong opponents. Italy just aren't that good atm.

Got rested today, allegedly due to fear of suspenion (yellows). Edit: didn't see that it was pre-planned.

Against Brentford (in isolation) I don't think there was one single instance where he was in the box and someone could have crossed to him, but didn't try. Burn tried once, but obviously that didn't go very well. There was one time where maybe Murphy should have passed it back to him, but went for the cross infront of goal instead. Our biggest problem against Brentford was to create any sort of attack at all, we usually gave it away before we even got to that stage. It is no secret though that the more we use Woltemade in the build up, the less he is going to be ready to finish a cross.
