  1. I think the form at the time matters a lot aswell, for example Cabaye, Tiote and Cisse weren't world beaters for the rest of their carreer. This was their peak season. Meanwhile right now we are out of form, so some players appear a little bit worse. But our team might actually have been more balanced back then, atleast.
  2. Realistically Isak is just going to play every game for at least 80 min each (unless he's injured). And when he gets subbed, it's going to be Gordon up front.
  3. Beating Club Brugge at home will probably be enough regardless. It takes so much for any of the big teams to get eliminated in this new group stage. You pretty much just need ~10p from 8 games, and you face some really weak ones in there.
  4. The same shit is happening with Luke Shaw and Reece James. Some players end up like this, and them not being injured is way more surprising than the contrary. Remember his chest injury at the end of the game? Bizarre, but we saw it live.
  5. He's just trying to cut the odds a little.
  6. He's going to be a key player in a top club if he leaves.
  7. Didn't watch the game, but how can the xG be the same (slightly higher for Leipzig) if the game was one sided in Villas favour? Surely xG isn't that misleading.
  8. Hmm not so sure. Next 2 are against Leicester and Ipswich. We will probably be fine, but if we somehow mess these up, it will be interesting to see whether our owners will react.
  9. Well, he was the perfect DoF 6 months ago, the solution to everything. And apparently we were just salty to have a different opinion of him back then. Guess we should be over the moon if he comes back.
  10. That's exactly what he told the owners when they asked him who to go for.
  11. According to Bruce he was the one who told the owners to go for Eddie. We should call Bruce to get some more advice.
  12. They said that our bid was way lower than the £60m reported. On top of that the reports say that we were going to sell in jan or june again to make up for it.
  13. https://www.givemesport.com/manchester-united-fans-stick-serie-a-best-player-scott-mctominay/ Antonio Cassano calls him the best player in Italy right now, actually. May not be the best, but it seems like people who follow Serie A are very very impressed and they wonder why other clubs in England didn't want him for that price.
  14. The grim part is that we're not getting out of that anytime soon, it will still be maxed out in the windows after that unless we start selling. And sticking with the same team every season obviously doesn't work, especially when our squad is this old. Our players of value are mostly just the purples, hence why selling a purple seems more and more like something that just has to be done if we want to evolve..
  15. His form sky rocketed right after leaving his wife and kids to find out what he had been "missing out" on.
  16. The way he handled the whole saga when Man Utd came in for him should've been a massive red flag to them.. Their fans didn't seem to care about it at the time.
  17. Going by that logic you can never sack Eddie unless you're fighting relegation.. I'd give him a little more time, and if that fucks up our season, so be it. But I don't think that he's irreplaceable.
  18. It's a risk either way. Nomatter when you sack a manager, and nomatter who's available. Sometimes the big names fail, sometimes the unknowns are successful. It would be a test of whoever is in charge of the appointment more than anything imo.
  19. Wonder if he's experiencing burnout.. It happened at Bournemouth. Wouldn't be surprised if we lost to Leicester with their new manager bounce, that might be the end tbh.
  20. Keeping Hall and selling Isak 2 rounds ago not looking great..
  21. Yeah, he gave him just what he wanted.
  22. What did the reporter say? And what did Guardiola say? As a norwegian it was difficult to understand that dialect. "Right mate, just 'cause you lost"? And then he replies with what?

    Marc Guehi

I was all for not jumping to conclusions, but the interview from his dad and himself doesn't really help his case. They are being really vague and saying things that doesn't really change anything, and I think that's for a reason. His dad comments are especially telling. It really does seem like his dad or family is the issue though, and I suppose that's no surprise. Guehi was put in a really bad and awkward position, and I also think the PL is partly to blame for that. Guehi isn't completely free of blame ofcourse, but he really had no way out of trouble.

    Kieran Trippier

He can be a coach to show them how to not do them.
