That's because the expectations are way way higher. We complain about things we used to forget in 1 day. Try watching a bunch of highlights from games pre VAR. It was crazy. You will realise this if VAR goes away. Also, without VAR, won't the top teams get an even bigger advantage from refereeing?

Remember last season when people said Newcastle only got CL because teams like Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool were shit? They all improved this season, yet 5th place will get 66 pts max (67 pts last season), and Villa will get top 4 with a worse result than what we got. In a season with 3 really bad bottom teams. What people allways seem to forget is that while some teams like Liverpool will come back, others like Man Utd will drop down again. It happens every season, yet people often expect every top club to improve before each season, and for none of the top clubs to go backwards.

Just like last season when they were chasing us at 4th but in the end finished 8th.

Just had this thought.. Saudi really helped Chelsea offload some players last summer, in which they would maybe have to let go for less or even struggle to sell. It might have helped them make some more signings, as they were at their limit, with Palmer being the last one (?). And now we might lose top 6 to them.. I just hope the Saudis don't help out our struggling rivals offload players like this every summer.

I can see a big win coming now. It was just about getting that first.

Krafth is a weird one. We allways expect him to be shit, and sometimes he is, but more often than not he's surprisingly decent. Just does the job, nothing too fancy. Might be time to move him on, but wouldn't hate having him around if he can accept minimal playing time.

Why are you only talking about Conference? We are still top 6, which means Europa League. If we had won yesterday, Europa League would've been quite likely. That tournament is a big step above Conference League, and could actually help attracting players. Also, as @TheBrownBottle pointed out earlier, going deep in one of the smaller ones could give the same financial gain as CL group stages.

He has started just 2 games as a CF for Leicester. I would assume that there's a reason for that. I think that it's easier for him to drive forward with his pace from the wing. It actually says that he started a youth game as a DM, maybe that's where we should play him?

I said it in a different thread. I looked through Leicester fans opinion about him, and the main complaint was inconsistency. That he gets lost in games. It seems like that's what's happening, one game he looks like a fantastic signing, and in another he looks like a pretty bad one.

Jackson is my nemesis this round, along with spurs defenders. I was going to bring in Jackson for Højlund, only to realise that I brought in Cucurella as my third Chelsea player.

I don't see us finishing 8th. But it would be a little bit disappointing if we don't get top 6 when we were in a pretty good position to do so. Dropping points when we shouldn't was something that also happened towards the end of last season, like drawing to Leeds and Leicester (although we only needed 1 point vs Leicester, but nealy threw it away at the end).

I'm guessing @Kid Icarus might have looked at the live table, Chelsea have 1p from their current game.
