Yes I know. The system allows them to spend lots regardless of actual performances..
-
So 15th placed Manchester United with a massive wage bill and no Europe are buying Cunha for £62,5m, probably with more singnings lined up, because they really deserve a high spending cap compared to other teams.

Did they care about the experience of the referee before the game? Did they raise concerns before the game?

Originally top 5 is the european domestic places, but us winning the Carabao and getting top 5 made it top 6 instead (before EPS is applied). Chelsea finished in the top 6, which means nothing will happen should they win the final.

Didn't see it, but he apparently saved Villa from further disaster today (huge miss).

It's the equivalent of getting a penalty against when you get the ball and don't even touch the opponent. Although the scenarios you talk about are real, they are often subjective. This one was objectively a clear and obvious mistake. There are absolutely no possible arguement to be made for it being a free kick after seeing the replay. Just because some other situations are soft doesn't make a scandalous decision any less scandalous. Again, Villa deserved to lose that game anyways, as it was pretty much men against boys from the first kick of the ball.

They were. However Villa getting something from that game would have been even more of a robbery, just in a different way.

I feel like the fixture list was quite lucky for them. When they were out of form they faced lots of easier opponents and still won. Then the last few games they had a couple of "free wins", like Liverpool right after securing it and Man Utd right before a final.. Nothing is truly free, as we saw today, but you know what I mean.

The fact that we denied them another season of CL is also pretty huge. They are pretty much our closest rival.
-
I'd buy Pickford just so that we don't have to play against the cunt again.

CL qualification and a trophy in his first full season. Best sporting director out there. Make that statue now.

Today proved that anything can happen in the last day of the season, as players lets the nerves and stress get the better of them, while "on the beach" teams does not have this pressure over them. I felt as if we were stressing a bit too much offensively, and that led to so many misplaced passes and counter attacks. We need to show a bit more composure in the biggest games next season, like we did in the final. Our form has dropped ever since Joelinton got injured, and we haven't looked convincing in a while, but luckily we still got there. Can't wait to get all the players back fit and firing for the next season. Ultimately over the course of a season we got 66 points, which is quite normal for 5th place. Can't say we didn't deserve it, despite todays showing (although we played pretty well after their goal).

Atleast the game today revealed glaring issues with the team. The lack of creativity and finesse for instance. Having another very good midfielder wouldn't hurt. We really lack depth in that position. The new winger will hopefully be technically gifted aswell, although knowing Eddie he would also need to have a good workrate.

Disappointed about today, but an absolutely fantastic season. I'll get over this game pretty damn quickly.
-
Hindsight is a great thing, but I think playing 3 CBs hurt us offensively when we were trying to break them down. We were a lot better after we completely changing the system in the second half. The changes were good mind.

How ridiculous it was to expect Man Utd to give them a fight. On a more serious note, what a crazy mistake from the ref. Emerys face in the last 30 was glorious. Man Utd was all over them all game. Höjlund kept missing chances. They fully deserved the win. Can't remember the last time I've seen them play this well.
-
Today we're both United.
-
They really want to win the last home game after that final defeat, and it shows. Unbelieveable that they haven't scored yet. Villa barely had a chance.
-
The only reason I'm not stressing is because I've been watching the Villa game aswell. I'm even more relaxed after that red.
-
Man Utd has been all over them the entire half tbf. Been saying it all along, Villa allways struggle against Man Utd.
-
Our lack of finesse offensively is really showing today.
-
Feels like we're rushing too much when attacking.. Good from Livra there though.
-
Just like Kelly would be a world beater in Serie A. Oh, wait.. We sold Chris Wood to Forest and then he got 20 goals in a season. Sometimes players just do a lot better once they go to a different club, whether that be confidence, system, or something else.

Inter is in a Champions League final. Their second CL final in 2 years. Napoli beat them to the trophy, and McTominay beat all of these players to the player of the year award. They have players like Dumfries, Lautaro Martinez and Barella. Why didn't these players achieve the trophy and PoTS in such an easy league? Last season the only team able to stop Leverkusen was Atalanta. They also eliminated Liverpool.

Remember when having a big celebration after a cup trophy was apparently ridiculous? I suppose they wouldn't celebrate a promotion all that much then.
