  1. If they win no trophy this season once again, Arteta will probably get fired.
  2. Imagine if the roles were reversed in that headbutt incident.. How many times would Gabriel roll on the floor?
  3. Arsenal fans are still going to whine about the reffing this game all week. Heck, make that all year.
  4. Haaland forgot to throw himself to the ground.
  5. And some act like none of the other options will be able to come in and do better.
  6. Bruno and Isak. Trippier before that. Last season would've been shambles with just a decent striker instead of a world class one.
  7. He made a worse players look like world beaters in 22/23, so clearly the manager has an impact on that.
  8. Never was an exciting winger to watch, and has been quite average the last 2 seasons. The fact that he has been our best winger as of late is more about our lack of quality wingers. If we get good money for him I couldn't care less. If only I could trust us to spend the money on something more exciting.
  9. Imagine if they get into CL next season and get relegated this season. How on earth are they going to fit CL into their Championship schedule?
  10. Yep. By top 8 I meant in the CL league stage. They beat Bayern for instance.
  11. Can't just assume that we would have had a similar season as them. For example they managed to get top 8 and almost beat PSG in the quarterfinal last season, while being 1 point off another CL qualification in the league. Compare that to our season. Obviously we would go far in that tournament, but we would probably field a very strong team in every game and every tournament, win by a large margin against the worst teams, and then have fatigue and injury struggles. We also don't have a playstyle suited to that amount of games, even if it's weaker opposition.
  12. With that footballing IQ of his, he would really shine as a manager. Especially his ability to allways just laugh and smile in bad moments will get the players truly fired up.
  13. Tbf the Chelsea job seems very difficult. And I'm not basing that on Rosenior struggling, I know that he's probably not a top notch manager. Since Boehly came in Maresca has been miles better than the other ones that has tried.
  14. This doesn't make any sense. Patience for what? Does anyone think that Osula will become a purple for us? Has Osula been playing regularly over time, and people have been accepting many several performances since he cost £15m, and because of his cheap price tag people still believe in him despite loads of mediocre performances? I don't get the comparison, Osula barely plays, and people don't believe he's going to become a regular.
  15. If Osula had played as much as Wolte, with as many mediocre performances over time, I can't see many people defending him at all.
  16. Yep. If someone would go back to the pages from november-december, I think most were looking forward to getting Wissa back as quickly as possible, as Woltes performances had been worse for quite a while by then. One good game doesn't mean that someones form has now transformed.
  17. If Wolte was some £20m unknown performing exactly the same over this season, I think the broad consensus would be that he's simpIy not a PL striker. In a way I think he's actually getting away with more thanks to the price tag, way more than certain other players would get away with.
  18. The same as the 2 months before that one Chelsea game.
  19. I think Haaland really needed that rest. Could be firing now.
  20. Chelsea are in terrible form.
  21. If they lose today then City would most likely pass them on gd by winning their next 3.
  22. So 3 years is the standard? If you sell an academy player, that will still count more, only that it's pure profit spread over 3 years instead of 1?
  23. When the takeover happened and Bruce was still in charge, how many people thought that getting Howe was the recipe to 2x CL qualifications and a cup win in the first 5 years? Go to the first 50 pages and have a look at who the majority wanted (Conte, Bielsa etc). Howe was rated, but he was seen as a less exciting option, and it was very hard for anyone know that it was a near perfect fit for us back then. There could well be less obvious (or less exciting) options that would be more successful in taking us forward from this point onwards, that fans on a forum either won't think of, or would be ridiculed if they suggested. The people running the club should hopefully have better knowledge on this than the average fan, like they did when we got Howe in 2021. Ofcourse, changing manager is allways a bit of a gamble regardless. Unless your manager is Steve Bruce, because then it can't get much worse.
  24. Next thing you know, Gattuso is your voice of reason.
