I literally never watch friendlies, so I had no idea. Crazy that..

VAR in friendlies? Since when?

The worry for me about going again with Howe isn't so much about his managerial skills, but more about how involvement he wants over transfers this summer. I doubt that he has had much time to scout other players this season, which is not his job anyways. He can do wonders with a strong team, but if we get this rebuild wrong and go all wasteful again, then it could take years to recover. We'll need to be very efficient with our money this time around. I'm willing to trust him to oversee the rebuild, only if he's open minded towards our transfers. Noone knows whether he is or not really.

We'd be at our PSR limit with an average midtable team, unable to fix it for seasons to come.

They've scored 3 goals in their last 6 in the league.. Before this.
-
How did he not get booked for diving? Caicedo I think it was?

That's rewriting history imo. Wolte had scored 4 goals in his last 14 starts (+ 2 sub appearances) when Wissa made his first start in the league. There were already lots of questions about whether he was a good fit, and it was believed that getting Wissa back would give us a new spark, as Wolte was looking increasingly out of place. I don't think there was all that much rhythm and confidence going for him at the time. We (including Howe) could not have predicted that Wissa would be shit, and in fact Wissa scored in both of his first 2 starts for us. Benching Wolte for Wissa made a lot of sense back then. The problems with Wolte didn't start there, and he was only starting most games in november and december due to lack of options, and not because he was pulling up trees.

Best we can hope for is like 16 points IMO. That puts us at 58. Liverpool and Chelsea only need 10 points to beat that, and that's not much. So even if we go on a run and they are shit, we may still not catch them. I still don't see us getting higher than 7th, even if our form will be great, but 7th wouldn't really be bad all things considered.

Soon they'll be dusting themselves down every week.

We're so soft the moment we're near goal. Never lethal enough.
-
I don't think it's a realistic transfer either way, for several reasons. We need several players, so it's a lot to pay for just one, and also would he even pick us anyways? Not sure he'd pick us just because he's local if he could instead get paid more while fighting for the biggest trophies.

There you go @CallumG6. Maddison brings a curse.

They haven't won a single game in 2026. Their form is the worst in the league. Like 4 in 12 or something. Steadily sinking.
-
Less points than Wolves at home.
-
The rat instanly gave up on tracking back aswell.
-
None of our wingers has scored a goal like that all season.
-
Thinking about it I almost miss Almiron. That's how bad the situation has gotten with our wingers.
-
Miggy was a pressing monster, better defensively, and also carried the ball well, atleast until he neared the byline and had no clue what to do anymore.Bizarrely Almiron also had a better g/a per 90 than what Elanga has had so far, which I can only assume is down to Elangas lack of confidence.

We need like 6 summer windows in a row similar to the last one to match the moneywasting that Man Utd have been practicing in the last century.
-
If you had spent £100m+ on Wissa and Elanga you could just go on to replace them with £300 worth of playes the next window, so it wouldn't really be a problem long term for you. Players knows you can do this, and that makes it more attractive to go to Man Utd instead of a club with a ceiling. Do I need to once again show you another comparison of your spendings and flops compared to ours? "The problem is spending money on flops", well, if you had been under the same constrictions as us buying a bunch of ~£50-80m flops like you've been doing, you'd be relegated by now. Instead you're back into CL places.

Took a massive risk with a 12 point hit, but it paid off. Got my 12 points back, plus some more. Only bummer was that Timber also scored, so the last hit ended up being pretty meh.

We did the business kind of late in the summer of 2023 aswell. Seems like we often end up trying to negotiate for a long time. It worked for us the first few windows, but not so much anymore.
