Don't know much about him, but probably fine. Most of our goalies are shit, and he can take over for Pope over time. Why did we sign Ruddy, by the way?
-
I'm sure Louise Taylor will ask Howe about it in the next presser. In the worst way possible.
-
Selling him late would leave them short on trying to replace him. Without replacement there could actually be a risk of getting relegated if they sell now. That's on them though, they could've replaced him earlier.
-
The "we don't know" thing doesn't work both ways. We believe the media when it suits the agenda we're trying to make, and if it doesn't, we say that it's fake news and that we don't know what's actually going on.
-
Almiron and Trippier won't be nearly the same as that season, Botman and Lascelles are out for months and we are deeply missing Willock (not sure we can count on him anymore). On top of that several players are past their best age, not just Trippier. Not sure we are better off or even the same, despite the transfers last year.
-
Hmm. What window? When we finished 11th the season before and had signed Pope, Botman and Isak? Did people say that teams around us (mid table teams) had strengthened more?
-
If you're going to count Tonali, you should also account for Botman and Lascelles losing several months. Which knew before the summer even started.
-
Some lack of squad depth, but I wish we were playing in the ECL now. We would've had a good chance in that tournament.
-
There was a fair bit of sarcasm in there. Howe has done many things well, but I think you will struggle to find other managers who would start Burn over Livra at LB due to aerial ability (or whatever the reason was, who knows)..
-
If they start Tino at left back, I truly wonder why they didn't pick Burn instead. As we know from last season, Burns aerial ability triumphs anything that Tino can provide in that position.

Where did our bids for Guehi come from, then? Did we make bids that we couldn't afford? Edit: I read something else that what you were typing, sorry. But it does beg the question as to why we didn't find any other options that were worth clawing back money on, if Guehi for that price was.
-
Even last summer people were starting to see signs of us running out of ideas, because we seemed to focus on just a few PL players apart from Tonali. The window turned out okay, but there were still some small signs there, and it was pointed out in the transfer threads. This window just strengthens that idea by a huge amount. I can't get myself to blame Mitchell for this window since he arrived late, but he has quite some work to do here, because it has gotten increasingly worse over the last year.
-
But it's not just about not signing Guehi. Most other clubs that has money to spend seem to make sure that they have enough alternatives in place to find someone else if one fails. We've had loads of time before the window to find options.
-
I agree myself, I won't let it annoy me too much yet. It all depends on the season. But I also don't like the whole going out of your way to defend something that clearly has been a bad performance. We don't make high bids for Guehi if we don't have money to spend, and even if we were bidding with money that we didn't really have to spend, we could've used that same money that we actually used for our bids into bidding on other alternatives anyways. We don't need evidence or 100% confirmed inside info to acknowledge this, it's just common sense. The whole "we don't know what's going on" argument is automatically being used whenever something doesn't go well, regardsless of what info we have available.
-
We've made really high bids for Guehi.. The first january window doesn't count towards PSR anymore. Everything points to us having money to spend.
-
I'm not making comparisons. They had time, and they clearly had money to spend. Something went wrong here, I'm sure the club is disappointed with how it went aswell. No point in going out of your way to make up excuses is my point.
-
It's pretty clear that we had money to spend, and we had time to find enough alternatives. I could make the same "we don't know what's being done" arguments for Ashley when he was here. It's not a great excuse.
-
Imagine if someone said this at the end of a Mike Ashley window.
-
I thought the title said "reitres from football".
-
Can he play on the right wing?
-
Why can't Eddie Howe pay some of the money for Guehi out of his own pocket to help us get it over the line and to also comply with PSR..? Get rid.
-
If Parish see this video, he will use it to increase the price by £10m more.

There was a time when Willock was playing out of his skin 90 min per week, sometimes even twice a week, and he barely ever got injured. Those were the days.
-
He was fantastic at CB when he first came. Then we tried him at LB, and it worked for a while. After that we didn't want to change what had worked for a long time, even when his flaw in that position became increasingly obvious. He's proving once again how CB is his main position, and also by far his strongest one.
