Andersen to Fulham was a sideways move, maybe even an upgrade for him tbh. Nice start to the season, by the way. Palace are truly looking like a team who will challenge for Europe. I wonder why all of your best players wants to leave, while players like Bruno is happy to stay here.

So by signing Guehi, we are indirectly helping Liverpool to offload Gomez for a potensially decent fee? Disaster!
-
He'll be getting some hefty wages when they have to sell him on the cheap in one of the coming windows.

Here is the entire quote: We usually don't do much in january except from that first window where we had to. I literally specified that I was talking about the last 2, because the first window had nothing to do with the owners loving the january window. I also said "don't do much", meaning that we did something. Just not much imo. Funny how you talk about me being factually wrong when you constanly twist my words and make up what I said as you go. The whole point of the post was just that we prefer the summer, and like you say, that's normal for just about any club. I never meant to say that we do less than most other clubs in january. I was just making a point about not expecting that much activity in january, because my impression is that the owners likes to wait til the summer instead, unless there is a true emergency like the first season.
-
Question. Do we typically do more business in the summer or winter? Second question. Why do you think we spent way more money and singed way more players in the first january window rather than the other 2?
-
You know very well why we signed 5 in the first window, lets not be ignorant on purpose over here. That window tells us nothing other than that the owners were desperate to not get relegated. Here's a different stat: in the last 2 seasons, we've spent a grand total of £48m in 2 january windows, signing 2 players. One of them being Ashby for £3m, the other one being Gordon for £45m. Is that much for 2 windows? Compare that to the last 2 summer windows prior to this one.

Both fans of other clubs and the clubs themselves were complaining that we were going to ship unwanted players to Saudi for an inflated price. What happened with that? Another narrative bites the dust?
-
And Willock. Also we've signed Botman and Lascelles for the january window already. Amazing stuff from Mitchell right away.
-
If it wasn't for these brilliant passes, they would've lost 7-1!
-
"Don't usually do much" was my words. The first one was forced.
-
Yes. Which would not have happened that window had he not started ditching training and such. They wanted £60m. Also, we spent less than £50m that window. As I said, we might get 1 signing, but I wouldn't expect us to spent all the money that we could have spent this summer. Value for the money will get better in the summer.

The consensus here when we lost out on ECL was that it was actually good thing, because we would surely push for top 4 this season without Europe. Some even went as far as saying that we would be challenging for the title.
-
Feels like they're not even close to the limit with the way that they are spending without any second thought. They just had to sell a hotel to themselves to comply, and yet they go on to spend £150m net again. And by the way, I thought that they had changed the rules on the long contracts. How can they still spend so much with the apparent new rules?

I honestly thought it was normal to bench players for a little while when their heads are in bits. There are lots of examples of that. Don't think playing those games and messing everything up made him feel any better either. We had Livra on the bench.

We don't usually don't do much in january except from that first window where we had to. It's not good for PSR due to inflated prices. 1 signing may be possible, but I wouldn't expect any more.

Willock is actually younger than Longstaff. But you're right. I just wish we were able to move some of these players on and use that money (wages especially) to fund a replacement. Easier said than done though, ofcourse.

By the end of the season, unless there are any changes, these are going to be our 30+ year old outfield players next summer (not including goalkeepers): Jacob Murphy - 30 Krafth - 31 Almiron - 31 Lascelles - 31 Dan Burn - 33 Wilson - 33 Schär - 33 Trippier - 34 Going to have to fill some of these gaps eventually.

As a general thing, I'm totally okay with footballers losing their wife when they cheat. It will teach them that they can't do whatever they want and get away with it, just because they are rich and famous. He deserved the outcome, and he has himself to blame for it. I'm hoping that he will get over it, because we will need him this season by the looks of it.
-
We've had a slow start to the season the last 2 seasons before this one. I think we got 9 points in the first 8 games or so when we finished 4th. Last season we had 3 in 4, although that was some tough fixtures. Was hoping that this would change this time around, but we tend to find form after the opening fixtures.

I liked how Burn took out the goalkeeper, but tell Joelinton to maybe be a tiny bit more careful next time.
-
I got a heart attack when he went down holding his achilles..
-
In that case I feel sorry for Man Utd fans constanly having to listen to Keane and Neville allways being critical about Man Utd. This is nothing compared to that. PS: I will never actually feel sorry for Man Utd fans.
-
Not trying to be negative, just trying to be realistic about the Guehi deal in isolation.. I didn't say anything about not signing anyone being the end of the world either, you're making that up if that's directed towards me. Sorry for not being overly positive and biased, I guess..
-
Them losing the first 2 games probably doesn't help us either. The only similarity is that both are captains and british, the rest is very different.
-
Kind of feels like he's going to have a mediocre or bad season if we don't sign him, and Palace will deeply regret it. The problem for them now is that there is not much time left to get a replacement if they sell.
