Strange how the Italian coach chose to start Tonali and play him for 90x2 right away then, and was rewarded with excellent performances for 90 minutes each game. Howe would never do the same in that situation, and you would be here defending the decision to not do it. The players that you mentioned was benched because other players deserved the spot ahead of them - through strong performances. That wasn't the case here.
-
Starting a suboptimal team to have better bench options is madness. Noone does that. No way that was Eddies thinking.
-
We all knew what we were in for when he started. Everyone focused on why Tonali shouldn't play, but noone gave any good reason as to why Longstaff should play. I think that was the bigger issue with the decision. Even at 50% fitness Tonali will give us more. I have no doubt he could've done atleast 75 min today and still look fine. He looked fit all game both games for Italy.

Got the starting lineup wrong, and for the same reason it was expected that we would be way better after the subs. We would be better in the first half with a different starting lineup. Still very pleased that Howe surprised everyone with a tripple sub at half time.

Gonna be 2-0 soon this
-
When Tonali comes on he will show show everyone why he should've started.
-
And Longstaff has barely played a single good game in 2024.
-
Coincidentally we will play way better when Tonali and Barnes comes on.
-
So not playing in 2 weeks doesn't matter anymore? Why don't you reply to the actual point?
-
And Longstaff hasn't played for 2 weeks, so he might be rusty, right? Howe used this argument last season when we lost to Palace. We hadn't played for 2 weeks and they played 3 days prior, and they were all over us.
-
Talking about Tonali playing games midweek sounds reasonable and all, but we all know that Longstaff most like won't do much at all. Even a Tonali at 50% would be better. Why does he need to be 100%?
-
So we chose guaranteed mediocrity, because that must be better.

I counted the yellow for Maresca. Was just looking at livescore.
-
12 yellows? Wow.

I'm used to it.

Forest is such an interesting story. Has any other club gone about the way they did, by loaning their way to the PL and actually be able to stay there?
-
I have double defensive Fulham on FPL, so obviously West Ham will score.
-
Haven't watched West Ham that much, but is there a good reason as to why they keep playing Antonio? His output has been low for such a long time, and he seems pretty slow.

"Sideways move"

They haven't had the best fixtures so far this season. Way too early to tell with a new manager there aswell.
-
They were probably better off selling him for £65m and keep Andersen, but I'm kind of stating the obvious here.
-
Will be interesting to see Nketiah. I kind of have a feeling that he will be scoring some goals. Might even have to consider him for my FPL team.

Agree. I don't think that him getting the achilles injury while recovering from a hamstring was a coincidence, especially when you consider his injury history before the hamstring.
