Norwegian here. Was 7 years old when Alan Shearer scored after 10 seconds. I found that to be very cool. 1 week later my dad whos a Villa fan told me that he'd allow me to pick a different team (than Villa) if I wanted to, and I said Newcastle. It was the last season that we were in the Champions League until this one, so I don't remember any Champions League game with us up until the Milan away game this season. Been to St. James Park several times, and I really like visiting the city. Imagine if that Shearer goal wasn't given due to handball. Who knows what club I could've picked if that goal didn't stand.

Players get so overrated due to some WC performances, it's crazy. Just finding a bit of form during a WC is enough. And from that Argentinian team they should've just gotten MacAllister instead.. Atleast he was proven PL quality, for just £40m in comparison. But Boehly just wants the priciest and most "exciting" new toy, like a spoilt child. He's rating players based on their price and current hype factor.
-
But Poch will make it about not having good enough players, or not getting the jan window to spend £300m more. Chelseas squad are really young and inexperienced though.

So Paqueta is out for 4 weeks, Bowen may be out for some weeks, Antonio is still injured, and Kudus is off to AFCON? Good lord, I can't even imagine how boring their games will be in the future. And how much worse they will look.
-
So he'll be injured again in february then I guess, after a couple of games back.

I see that your cup draws are still on point. From Wigan to Newport or Eastleigh. Kind of like when you got Charlton at home in the EFL Cup quarterfinal last season, which was by far the easiest fixture you could get.
-
Honestly think that there should just be 1 domestic cup.. It would make that cup become more important, and lessen the amount of games at the same time. Also, do we really need the replay system?
-
Ah, who would've thought.
-
That second half kick off from Bournemouth. What was that?
-
Came on from the bench against Pool. In the 54th.
-
Will be interesting to see who we get next. It's 99% certain that it will be another away game.
-
He wants to go away from being Klopp and start being Guardiola instead.
-
Don't jinx it
-
It was a misunderstanding, I somehow thought it was about the Liverpool game.

There's a difference between being negative and being a realist. He was being a realist. It's a forum, we're supposed to share our honest opinions.

Funny how Murphy might be back before Harvey Barnes. Guy dislocated his shoulder twice in novermber, while Harvey Barnes injured his toe from sprinting in september.
-
Exactly this. On top of West Ham missing Paqueta, Kudus and Coufal.

Problem is that selling players to upgrade them for a significantly larger fee didn't work well with our FFP restrictions in terms of building squad depth. I know he is injured a lot, but we needed more depth in several positions, and we would probably not get that much for Wilson compared to what it would cost to get a good replacement. They wanted to buy without selling decent players, unless we could get the same fee back from the sale like with ASM and Barnes.
-
Yeah exactly. Probably can't blame Longstaffs ankle issue on the playstyle either. So we're pretty much left with just Willock from last season and Isak from this season who may have suffered injuries from playing too many games or due to the intense playstyle. Plus some minor absences like for example with big Joe.
-
In what way was our injuries caused by our playstyle? Willock (not even from this season), Isak and Wilson possibly.. But the rest of the long term ones wasn't. I've said this before. Botman, Barnes, Manquillo and Targett didn't get injured due to fatigue. They had not played that much yet this season when they got injured. Murphy, Pope, Burn and Anderson (?) injured themselves when falling. Tonali didn't get suspended because of our intense playstyle. Added games does increase the chance of freak injuries aswell, but very few of our long term injuries are down to intense playstyle or fatigue from the amount of games they've played. The injuries and suspension were just bad luck mostly. The fatigue issue we have now could've probably been handeled in a different way though, even with the injuries that we had.
-
It's true, but it's not just about looking at each game individually. It's about the bigger picture. Maybe we thought the same as what you said about playing him vs Forest, but what we will never know is whether he would've had a significantly better game against Liverpool if we rested him vs Forest. Maybe we played someone who was tired to have a slightly better chance against Luton, but then that player could not perform against Forest due to the fatigue. I could give many examples like this for december. This is the point that people are making.

He has 2 goals in his last 8 against us, the last one being back in 2021.
-
I know, but that's not what I was asking. If the league gets a spot, will it be given to 8th place if 5th gets Champions League? And 7th can potensially get Europa League?
-
Toney back for the next league game, it will be interesting to see whether they will sell him in january. Also, when it comes to Everton I don't think it's a coincidence that they started looking worse once Doucouré got injured. He's coming back soon.
-
If 5th gets CL, does that mean that 6-7th could get Europa League and that 8th place could get Conference League?
