Only one not scared out there

Not concerned about result but I am concerned with bad habits and negative patterns that have crept into our play. We’re going back to Pope far more than last season and he’s a liability. Too much standing still. Too much “safe” passing which encourages the oppo onto us (pushes us back) then leads to sloppy passes and giving the ball away in dangerous areas which then drops the confidence which then leads us to being too “reactive” because we’re always trying to make up for the last sloppy pass, the bit of ground because a pass isn’t fast into feet. Too much of what we’re doing atm is giving encouragement to the opposition. We’re not proactive enough in our pressing and we drop back too much into this 4-5-1 shape. Players are getting too far away from each other. We look 25% less fit than last season. We’re aren’t creating enough high percentage chances. Not controlling the midfield. And Burn needs to be dropped, it’s time.

Similar to the LC final. Playing a game of “don’t poke the bear”.

Has Eddie told the players to cool it intensity wise this season or is the midfield just not working because we look slow and disjointed and that’s not just this game.

They’re totally forgetting the cheat code they had under Ellis Short at the same time as we had 14 years of MA, with 7th being their zenith. Bit funny that their “not caring” about us anymore has somehow coincided with us being unspeakably wealthy and in cup finals and champions league competition whilst they’re *checks notes* 7th (is that actually as high as they’re allowed to finish) in division two.

He does like. Also has the underhanded “trying to influence the ref” nature that Wolf did.

After he slipped he tried to get up and run after Trippier at full steam and I suppose his knee couldn’t take the load of standing up and accelerating like that, especially when I think he’s had a knee injury before. Changed the game when he went off. I think he deals with the ball before the Pen and just sees it out.

It has been missing a little to be sure. We saw it v Villa but it was certainly missing from City, Brighton and most Liverpool. Came back a little v Brentford. Hopefully the bright lights of San Siro will fully ignite it.

Loftus-Cheek, Pulisic and Giroud are nothing better than what we’d beat week to week in the Prem. We’ll do the double on them, bring back their banter era and they’ll hate us and Cardinale even more. Where’s that Milan guy that told us categorically we weren’t getting Tonali?

We’ll do these. They look all over the place defensively. Not sure an ageing Giroud could cope with our intensity. All set up for a smash and grab.

Sick for him, especially ahead of Tuesday. Love him in our team. What a potential night for Anderson though.

He did well today. I don’t know if I’m imagining it but I’m sure in the reserves and on loan at Bristol he used to be far more adventurous in running at defender and dribbling, he used to glide past them and was quite proficient at megging people. He seems to have curbed it a bit. Definitely our Foden though.

Oh yeah he can absolutely get to fuck with his exaggerated facial expressions pre-match. He was lucky his team didn’t lose 3-0. Just as much of a whinger as Klippity is.

Aye, definitely a Bellamy type personality wise. Bellamy had much more threat mind but hopefully Gordy can add more strings to his bow as time goes on.
