I am starting to wonder if West Ham are selling Bowen this season. They have already signed Kilman for £40m, Luis Guilherme for £25m and are being linked with big money transfers for Summerville, Duran, Kante and Tomori. They won't be selling Paqueta to cover that anymore, so unless they have a very favourable PSR position, they must be getting money from somewhere.

I would be a bit miffed if we signed Thiaw when Tomori is potentially available, even more so if he ended up at West Ham. Would trust Eddie and the scouting team if that was the case though and hope that Thiaw is the better option but for me Tomori is a fantastic defedner and was great in both games against us last season.

Still find it absolutely ridiculous that the ban carries on for three games into the new season. Benefits absolutely nobody!

20/1 for him to be top goal scorer next season in the league. He was second for minutes per goal last season and with no European football there is more chance of him playing more minutes. Hellishly good odds!

I think, or maybe more hope, that people will be pleasantly surprised with how much we have to spend. The PSR problems were because we had two £70m losses and therefore needed a profit for last year of £35m which we have made despite having a transfer outlay in total. Therefore, for this year we now have a loss of presumably around £35m in total for the two years in question and therefore can now make a £70m loss again for PSR. With our increased revenues that should see us being able to spend a decent amount with the potential for it to be topped up with some player sales. We of course have to keep in mind that amortisation costs for all our big signings are still going through the books, but I still reckon we will have north of £100m in total to spend.

The majority of the twitter ITK's are bullshitters and it is so sad to see how much effort they put into it. However, it can't be denied that Pizza Rob at the very least had some inside information from within the club. He called Minteh before anyone even knew he existed and got Livramento about a month before any journalist called it alongside some other bits and pieces.

Is there any chance this is to force Real Madrid's hand? It sounds like that is where he really wants to go but they were going to try and wait for his contract to run out.

If we are in for him then this will work in our favour. Probably the only way we would get a player like him when his stock is low, same way we managed to get Isak.

That is correct, but the main problem now is (and the thing that makes it the hardest to judge how much we might spend) that we have a lot of expensive players who are being amortised this year. Bruno, Isak, Gordon, Tonali, Botman and Tino will all have another year of their respective transfer fees amortised in this year. You would imagine that would be at least £50m of transfer fees going through the books for them alone.

I think we will spend over £100m personally but of course could be very wrong. Big losses from 2021/22 have gone off the books and we have much higher revenues with Sela/Adidas etc. Not to mention the prospect of getting some decent money for any of Wilson, Almiron and Trippier if we can sell them to Saudi.

We are in deep shit until Sunday you would imagine but as soon as July hits we will probably have a decent wedge to spend again. Is it the first season under Saudi owners that goes off the calculation? Spent a lot of money in that January window!

As for Elanga. Quite like him as a player but it is a come down from Olise if he ended up being our starting winger.

Anderson is a great player to have on the bench for us going forward. Can do a good job in numerous positions, should continue to improve and is a local lad which helps if we get back to Europe. The worst part of PSR is that it encourages you to sell your young players from the Academy

I’ve lost interest in football at the moment until we are actually playing again to be honest. This PSR bollocks removes the enjoyment of the transfer window completely with all these shit reports of us selling X, Y and Z.

The Olise transfer, if it happened, would have been pushed into next years accounts or done right at the end of this month whereby only a small amount of the transfer would have fallen into this year. We will still be able to make transfers after 1st July, the sale is just to ensure we haven't breached PSR in this current year. All starts again next week and you would assume we would have at least £50m to spend before player sales (hopefully more!).

You know what I mean. Actually trying to integrate him into the team and give him a pre-season. He has all the attributes needed to be successful under a Howe team will feel like such a shame to not even give him a chance

Gone from apparently wanting Mamardashvilli, Tosin, Kelly and Olise to possibly getting Trafford, Kelly and DCL with a talented youngster potentially leaving. Not the most exciting starts to the window and selling Minteh without even taking a look at him feels like a potentially huge mistake.

Didn’t want this anyway but to sell a young talented player who plays in our weakest position for an injury prone average out of form striker is horrible business. Will be gutted if this happens.

Was a bit tongue in cheek to be fair. As you say it is all a bit odd but the ridiculous rules mean that teams need to find ways round it

They have just helped Everton by buying Dobbin. Wouldn’t be surprised if they overpay on Maatsen as a result to help Chelsea out

Definitely deals to sort each other out with PSR. The whole thing is becoming more of a joke and to the detriment of young players who are joining teams they have no chance of playing for.

Also another depressing article from Edwards where it mentions the need to sell and that Minteh will probably be off. My only hope is that we need to raise some funds before the end of this month and that from July we can throw another £80m to £100m about.
