I'm sure there is, and I respect that Howe cares about those things. With that said, I'd rather let Mitchell find the next Heung Min Son and Sadio Mane for us - both of whom he brought in for cheap. Hamstringing him with what looks like a Howe Veto just seems to defeat the purpose of bringing in Mitchell in the first place. Of course, we don't know for sure to what extent Howe has say on transfers, but it seems a safe assumption that he has significant say, based on our lack of activity, and Mitchell's penchant for affordable youth talent, of which we've brought in almost zero since he's been here.

Best thing Howe can do for himself, and the side, is to sit back and let Mitchell do what he does best.

Semenyo played a free pass into the box because Kelly was forcing him inside despite being a meter from being out of bounds. At best, it was unimpressive marking. Hall came on and transformed that left side with Barnes. There's a reason one player fetched 30m at 18 years old, and the other was allowed to run down his contract in the prime of his career.

Poor marking on the goal which he played on. But, arguably more importantly, he was a true passenger on the attack. Less progressive than BDB, somehow, on the left.

The personnel Howe subbed on with 30 minutes to go instantly changed the momentum of the game. Those personnel were available to start. That's on Howe, and no one else.

Looks like another season where this lad will have the shortest leash of everyone in the starting XI. Bizarro world. We were dross until he started those last 8ish games, and could step into midfield and bomb down the flank for us. Kelly played that goal onside, with shocking marking on Semenyo. Hope we'll see a change at half.

Kelly somehow seems even less progressive than BDB at left back. Looks all too familiar unfortunately.
