This is very obviously what is going on. One of the best identifiers of young talent spends 4 weeks "negotiating" for the most overpriced asset you could probably find in the country right now. The same guy who picked Heung Min Son and Sadio Mane out of the crowd for a pittance. But be careful - you'll catch a lot of flack for this one. You are right though.

Agreed. Osula should be starting. Start rotating early before the injury train rolls

Eddie confirms what many here have guessed - our targets are Eddie's. If not in full, at the very least in part. (Don't want to work anyone up into a tizzy with this. But it is apropos of what we've talked about.)

We're currently mulling over 70m for Marc Guehi, so I'm not sure that's a sound reason not to be looking to do business in Jan tbf

Calling us not moving a massive failure is a bit over the top. The nice thing about PSR, if there are any nice things, is that any cash we might have used this window, can be deployed in January or the summer all the same. It's not a use it or lose it proposition. I don't hate the idea of seeing how the squad operates until January and bringing someone in then if needed. Regardless, whatever is not expended will be extra ammo in our war chest next summer.

A carabao game against Forest is the perfect opportunity to give him a start. Think at the very least he'll come on at 60

Coman would be immense

Before the vitriol, maybe give it a read, mate

Says in the article itself Howe sought reassurances on his primary transfer target... Do we still think the two met to talk about their FPL teams?

lol https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/aug/16/eddie-howe-focuses-on-newcastle-success-after-boardroom-unease Edit: first result on google btw

This was widely reported on. Too lazy to google but there was an eleventh hour meeting between eddie and mitchell to settle whatever differences they had regarding eddie's say in transfer business.
-
Thought yesterday he looked the sharpest I've seen him since joining us

I think just about everyone on here would take this signing over us doing nothing this window - myself included. But are you really surprised people are tired of NUFC being toyed around like a pawn by a much lesser club and an obnoxious owner for nigh on a month?
-
100% will be a relief once this mess is over. players in or not.
-
That is fair and, to be fair, all things considered, this has been a solid start to the season despite the performances on the pitch. Not starting the season in a points hole will be big for us.

Where is the speculation? We know, to a certainty, Eddie was very concerned with Mitchell's appointment. We also know Mitchell is among the very best in the world at bringing in talent. Do you honestly think Mitchell's scouting list started and ended with Marc Guehi? Or does that seem like a Howe wish list type of player?
-
They're largely talking about the window, which has been open for, what, about 3 months now?
-
Love Eddie as a manager, but throwing a hissy fit once Mitchell was brought in was not what was best for the club. It's clear Eddie is still dictating transfer policy, and it's at least part the reason why we've had such a bizarre window. My patience, and others', with Eddie will be running thin if he the window closes as is and we didn't bring anyone in because they don't meet Eddie's laundry list of requirements to join the squad. Mitchell, a world class DoF, needs to be calling the shots with absolute authority if we want to make it to the next level - not Eddie, whose strengths are managerial.

Would bite your hand off to recruit from a league in continental europe. Feels we recruit from a pool of about 25 players - young, english, Premier League, and looking to move. Just not gonna work under PSR long term. There is a very limited number of Halls and Tinos under those transfer parameters.
-
For all the stick I gave Kelly I think Kelly over Krafth makes sense next game. Wonder if Howe will give it a go.
-
I'd throw 60 at Brentford for Mbeumo and see if they bite
-
Call me crazy but sensing there will be movement this week one way or another
-
Yes we were

No need to get tickled, its my opinion mate. Ad hominem is childish. I'll stick to what we all saw with our own eyes - side was much better once Hall and Trips came on.
