Have you watched him mate? Maybe I'm just backing my own, but I'm not even sure he steps in over Dan Burn with how shaky his on ball defending is, and he certainly isn't stepping in over Fabian.

I don't understand why there has to be a "villain" at all, so to speak. Different managers have different working styles. Howe likes a lot of control. Whether it fits with the club's long term vision has no bearing on whether he's some sort of bad person or not - just his management style.

The drive to turn Mitchell into a super villain is one of the stranger impulses I've seen on here.

Think Bruno is catching a frankly ridiculous amount of criticism from fans and Hopes. He's carried dead weight in the midfield for a year plus now. Tonali was supposed to ease the pressure, but there doesn't seem too much interest in that pairing at the moment. Far too easy for oppositions to target Bruno in the midfield when his two colleagues in the midfield can't punish teams with an incisive pass, or taking on their man.

Bang on here. Whether our recruitment and operations are dysfunctional or not, our top brass seems to believe so. I think there will be seismic changes in player personnel, management and otherwise the next calendar year as a result, and I think we'll see the wheels in motion as soon as the January window opens.

Not sure how true this is mate. I think talent wise Brighton is just about our match/peer. We have some bigger names on the team sheet, but does a Longstaff, a Murphy, a Dan Burn get a minute of playing time for Brighton? I don't think so.

I'll support the club above any single figurehead - I don't like any one person gaining too much power, and, personally, really detest the public politicking that we know Howe likes to do, and that Mitchell seems to be engaging in now as well. Just a bad look optics wise for the club all around. Can't possibly be helping with player attitude on the pitch, either.

If he cleans up his 1-2 lapses of attention/composure, he becomes one of the first names on the sheet with what he offers offensively. Hope Eddie can get him sorted.

I love AG don't get me wrong, but we've learned he's got a bit of an ego on him. That's good when he's firing on all cylinders and I applaud it, but when he starts throwing hissy fits on the pitch and thinks he's bigger than our project, that's a problem. I don't know that the latter's the case, but if it is, Eddie should sit him down and put him in his place.

Don't disagree with you. Everything I said still holds true though - seems a year or two off from being a contributor, and could use a loan or two out to lower level sides.
