He was one of the players I was most excited for this season, genuinely believe he is incredibly talented and was hoping he'd kick on after being excellent last year
-
The fact we haven't abused this, even potentiallly under valuing maxi, while the Saudis paid crazy premiums for other clubs players, surely means we could get a actual decent fee for them
-
Yeah makes sense! Do you not see a role for the likes of a MGW / Maddison player for us then? Not saying I do or don't, just an interesting topic
-
Thinking of our potential recruitments for the summer for RW / attacking options Would people rather we signed a MGW player for the RW slot who is versatile across the midfield 3 Or a inverted forward like Nico Williams who is versatile across the front 3?
-
People have short memories, it wasn't long ago where people questioned Isaks ability/fitness and I even seen a few people say we should sell him to get a more reliable striker, now people are saying he's better than Shearer Willock was quality last season and has attributes non of our other midfielders have, really hope next season he gets a chance to shine again
-
True, but last season our bread and butter was not losing and rarely conceding Maybe will a fully fit team, we'd get back to that
-
My point on the price was purely to parody Dan Burn haha But you raise a good point, similarly I thought Arsenal paid a lot for Declan Rice, however if this fee stops Man City getting him and further enhancing their premiership dominance... Then it's worth it
-
Aye same here mate Plus, I've got friends who have Madrid as their 'second team' which I just find a bit weird and cringe, so always want them to do shite ?
-
Villa do love a free transfer
-
Don't know anything about the guy, is this a good appointment for them?
-
Yeah I'm sure in a few years Gvardiol will be renowned as one of the best CB's. Hes unique in that he's unreal with the ball, can impact the game in the final third with his passing and can play inverted / auxiliary left back role 90m seems a bit much though considering Dan Burn only cost 13m
-
Feel like with his technical ability, good left foot and small centre of gravity, he'd be good being an inverted LB, stepping into midfield However, Trippier and Livramento are aggressive RBs and I can't see us doing both of them
-
Thought he was unreal until he got tired, ran like a dog and was a total nuisance, also was very good and intentional when on the ball When everyone is fit, LW is by far our strongest position on the pitch
-
Honestly can't see Arsenal going for him, could be completely wrong like Jesus is quality when fit. Arteta has turned Havertz into a very useful player this season, plus they spent £70m on him. With the fee Isak would command due what we paid + contract length, it would make no sense for them to go big on a ST If I was them I'd go big on a Pedro Neto / outlet player
-
As stupid as this sounds as I have never seen him play, but I really want us to get Marmadashvili, especially with no guarantees Pope comes back as good as he was Something about having our GK position and the heart of our defence filled for the next 10+ years would be amazing
-
How many games does he need to play before people can comment on his thighs?
-
Their goal off the free kick... When the ball is played to Bowen he shifts over to the left post, when the ball is played to Kudus, he doesn't move more central of the goal, the ball is basically hit in the middle of the goal and it still goes in
-
Totally agree, Man City winning makes me feel nothing Would rather Arsenal win over Liverpool though if it had to be one of those 2, couldn't bare the scousers if it happened. People already talk as if Klopp is better than Pep, never mind if they won another league
-
Best I've seen his drop off / link up play last night, some amazing touches and lay offs
-
Could Dubravka be any closer to his line
-
Aye, if the rumours have some truth, then it's insane how much international football can overhype a manager
-
That was my thoughts too, but thought his ability on the ball was good yesterday, suprised me Not saying he is Rodri or Bruno G with the ball, but he showed some ability
-
Thought Onana was quality against us last night, would love him in our midfield
-
This, since the takeover we've already bought Burn and Targett, and have 30M plus committed out of our summer budget on Hall. As much as I'd love a Hincapie singing or something, it makes no sense funneling half our budget into LB constantly However, whilst we have great depth at LB on paper, it's a clear weak point of our first 11. And all players are different Lloyd Kelly would great as free transfer. But yeah I'm really curious as to what we do at LB in the Summer
