would have comfortably seen off Boro
-
losing to Liverpool in the final would be awful but the chance to beat them in the final absolutely worth it
-
Boro v Chelsea tonight - should be Newcastle and I'm quite bitter about it. Chelsea the jammiest of all the jammy clubs hope Caicedo and the guy who stamped on Krafth pick up injuries and suspensions
-
getting players back at the end of the month is all well and good, but they won't be fully up to speed and it's unlikely there won't be more injuries/suspensions in the meantime when was the last time we got through a game without any injuries? even the less serious ones it's always one or two games such a frustrating season in so many ways
-
gutted if Joelinton is out - in the LC win against them he was probably motm and don't think they'd have done it without him
-
typical - that is a massive blow felt we had a chance with Joelinton available, now certain it'll be a defeat
-
would be bloody brilliant if Man U continue to miss a ton of chances and somehow fail to win this
-
at least Villa also got a tricky away draw ahead of their home game against us
-
VAR is back and it's Anfield so best of luck to them!
-
Liverpool will win the first leg comfortably like 3-0, so Fulham won't be bothered in the second leg and will save themselves for this. could have been a lot worse obviously, but still another shit away draw against a solid midtable PL side that's going to be v difficult
-
seems like Man U and Chelsea always get easy and / or home draws
-
missing the old embedded tweets this time of year hoping for a Phillips thread to pop up soon
-
a home draw would be nice also a difficult away game dor Villa and the more all PL ties elsewhere the better
-
if Howe had been dealt a better hand this season ie Tonali available along with Barnes and others not getting freak injuries, I am pretty sure they'd be higher up the table, still in Europe and have a semi final against Boro to look forward to then everyone would be saying what a great job he's doing despite having the most difficult fixture list at the start of the season including cup draws I think the owners will recognise that and they'll go again with Howe next season sections of the media desperate for owners to pull the trigger, just hope the club and fans are united in backing him if things get worse this month
-
think Phillips seems unlikely at this point as surely the club would have looked to agree terms prior to January if they were serious
-
hooefully not the next Jamal Lewis
-
yeah pointless really but sometimes scan them out of curiosity to get outside perspective
-
saw the Guardian match report today, really poor from Andy Hunter no mention of Newcastle's disallowed goal at 0-0 no mention of Longstaff penalty appeal at 1-1 right before their second no mention of Jota's dive and potential offside for their second peno and it can't be because of word limit since he was able to reference Firmino watching on sidelines more than once pathetic journalism
-
I'd like to see a proper replay alright, strange if it wasn't looked at.
-
some cause for optimism... last time we went to Anfield it was a pretty patched up team, without Bruno, ASM and Wilson, while Botman stayed on the bench and Isak was making his debut, yet we should have really won it or at least drawn (Isak's disallowed second was a brilliant goal that should have stood imo) This time we should have Isak, Bruno, Botman, and Gordon starting, hopefully all fired up for this knocking Liverpool off their perch would be so sweet
-
dreading Nunez doing a Chris Wood against us
-
fearing the worst but hoping for an Eddie Howe masterclass to silence the critics
-
Phillips would give the squad some much needed depth if they're back to playing 3 games a week next season
-
some exclusive that, the lowest hanging fruit based on a rumour that's been around for months. hope they get this deal done and Howe works his magic on Phillips
-
kind of want Liverpool to go through as this comp means fuck all to them, while they'll have more games in January without Salah, and Chelsea won't get a clear run to another cup. a few injuries along the way would be a nice bonus
