  1. Think that says more about loyalty/trust from Southgate, rather than ability. Like would we want him playing LB for us over Hall and Kelly, heck even Tino? No. Now is a good time for all parties to go their separate ways. Guys legs have gone, and the wages his on to be back up isn't worth it if we can get £5m-£10m into the coffers too.
  2. Think with one season, Murphy as back up RB is fine IMO if we've got a star RW. Don't need to overspend on RB as Tino should have it locked down for rest of this decade. I mentioned Lamptey in other thread, and he would suffice as a back up RB if needed.
  3. Can't wait to go 0 out 1 and repeat that theme for the months to come. 3 out of 17 last season, but always as a pair which I think doesn't help odds.
  4. Bit of a crap video, Diaz had to check his run so not like it was full speed v full speed
  5. It’s only Arsenal and Man City. Liverpool have Robertson, Chelsea Chilwell, Spurs Udogie, Man Utd Shaw, Villa Mattsen. It’s more the norm to play LBs at LB, rather than LCBs. Hall brings so much to on the ball, we’ve got to be playing him LB. Team needs evolving.
  6. Chalobah left out of Chelsea US squad. Got to be a mover there if available for knock off price?
  7. Just looking at who could be possible replacements for Trippier if he were to be sold. If Tino will be the main guy, how about Lamptey as back up? 12 months left on contract, could be attainable for £10m-£15m I feel. Enough about his game to provide a good option to Tino.
  8. Frimpong, MGW, Toney, Sane LETS GO
  9. If all 4 did go, that would mean some wild buying. All four would need replacing, on top of getting a CB in, and maybe a goalkeeper if opportunity arises. £200m spend incoming.
  10. Pretty much. As long as a club can service it, the league doesn’t care if you were £10m in debt or £10bn.
  11. Guy must have some strong underlying stats to have clubs touted for him at that fee at that age. Guess the caveat is, he could develop those stats into a proper top class striker, or he’s off the field antics just see him be a ‘what if’ guy.
  12. Good deal from Villa to get their fee back, but he still played every game going and was a threat. Replace him with some bloated signings and it's a step backwards.

    Alfie Harrison

What is he’s best / favourite position? Some reason I have it in my head as a winger.
  14. Most likely are, but when they dip into it, they probably just want high level and reasons why. “UCL then no Europe. What’s happened? Who’s to blame”. Could argue Ashworth going, with AS/MG and bringing in Mitchell/Bunce, gives everyone some breathing space going into new season, but I’d be very surprised if there’s not serious pressure all through the structure from Howe upwards to deliver step forward this season, otherwise changes will be made, and that’s usually a case of manager.
  15. Striker moves up the priority rankings now. Wilson needs to be told his time here is officially done. And it’s either move to Saudi or be third choice and maybe see 10 minutes of game time this season.
  16. Mean, unlike most sides, our team is fine come first game. It’s just the RW which would be a shame, but it’s not like it’s a dysfunctional team that’s poor going into first couple of games, everyone knows their jobs and chemistry good. Just about adding the right quality in two key areas (CB/RW) and being opportunistic elsewhere. Happy to play waiting game if it means nailing the main two. Edit: Like if we can’t be getting 6 points first two games with what we’ve got in the team so far, then it’s going to be a poor season.
  17. With Mitchell here, Poch would be the slam dunk name to come in, and I’m not keen on him at all. Just a sidewards step at best.
  18. Swear ever since Wilson bulked up muscle wise in recent seasons, he’s picked up more injuries. Seems to be a common thing, and I remember Ronaldo going opposite way, reducing his muscle mass because he was told it would lower his risk of injury and improve his longevity.
  19. He does by most part, but Arsenal went on a run with him there and Arteta probably values certain stats he gave there, I.e. his pressing. Think he wants to be playing European football, either this season or next. If he wants to be a guaranteed starter, he’s option is probably Spurs or bust. Man Utd out / Liverpool / Man City all out as they don’t need him. Villa have Watkins as main guy. We have Isak, Arsenal debatably have Havertz, and could go lower cost striker if it meant going big on a CM. Outside that, he’s looking at moving to say West Ham.
  20. Chelsea in terms of XI when all fit best for me. The XI picked there is not even close to their best XI Kepa: James, Chalobah, Colwill, Cucarella: Enzo, Caicedo: Sterling, Palmer, Madueke: Nkunku Just the problem they have, too many players. So there’s fair argument that Jackson should be striker. Gallagher needs to play midfield. KDB new signing. Multiple CB partners. Colwill or Chilwell at LB. Who in goal. Then mixed in with all that, the style of play to suit the main XI, because a style may suit the core, but then when you need to change it up, the others don’t. It’s all that mess which will bog them down. Completely forgot Tosin joined them too He could genuinely be 5th choice CB unless they sell Chalobah, who I would happily take here.
  21. Mountain out of a mole hill. Howe still has full club backing I suspect, but I doubt he’s kidding himself in thinking he has a long rope this season and knows he needs to take a step forward or he’s gone.
  22. That’s a Monchi player if I’ve ever seen one
  23. No guaranteed starter there if Arteta prefers Havertz up front rather than CM. His options aren’t vast, but he’s made it sure he’s leaving Brentford one way or another. This summer for a fee, next summer for nothing.
  24. Then he best retire or lower his expectations to a side wards move. Wherever he goes as a step up, it would be on rotational minutes or he nails it and becomes undroppable.
  25. Seeing a post in other thread about Toney, he must be high chance of happening? Going to be leaving Brentford for certain this summer, and the options for him are reducing down. One year left, probably can say £30m mark gets it done, and that must be a deal we’re observing to see if it changes over the coming weeks (I.e. Brentford happy to accept little less with future installments / Wilson offer comes in from someone). Certainly better deal than signing DCL IMO.
