Assume sarcasm, as it was Adringa. Do feel people go over board on Brighton signings, as if every one is an absolute slam dunk. Their style of football helps a lot for some of the attackers, but I'm not sold on vast majority of them making the transition to clubs elsewhere.

Depends how you play him. You can get away more in a lower half team by coasting and scoring at time, not so much at top end when you actually need some passing ability and discipline.
-
Ah here we go again. Getting injuries out of season ffs.
-
Bayern are fortunate they’re so far ahead of rest of Germany, they can make weird signings. Losing so many players with no income, aging squad in areas, yet won’t impact them as they will always have UCL money and big commercial revenues. Should open the door though whilst they go through this weird phase for more titles to be won outside them.

Retain hope that Leicester sign him by end of August.
-
Neto I would’ve liked 3 years ago when he was 21 and there was something to work with, but feel that the talent has sailed now and what you see is what you get. Which is a good player on his day, but that not reliable enough for a club who wants to compete at top end.

Any chance a swap deal is done with Pope?
-
We’ve had Almiron slow it down loads coming inside. Being able to cut in on stronger foot is only so good if you are good on your right or exceptional on left. Theres value in coming in on your right, playing that short pass to Bruno/Tonali for a one two, behind the defence, and playing it first time on your strong side into the 6 yard box with Isak waiting there.
-
100%. Just we’ve been so starved of local talent, people will fairly be upset as it’s a local one going. But by end of this decade, you’d hope there’s plenty more, and it’s not like we’ve seen since 2008. Carroll - Dummett - Longstaff - Anderson. Miley the most recent. Like it’s a shocking conveyer belt of local talent that can only get better.

If we’re playing Tino as a marauding RB, with the RCM in a more conservative role, MGW is great for RW, coming into that half space. Can also play LW if Isak/Barnes injured and Gordon needs to go up front. Can also slot into CM if really needed. Think for an evolution of the side, he’s a good player to get.
-
Stats are just one thing on the paper. MGW technique is something else, and he will 100% be playing this season with a point to prove because he sees himself as being in England squad. I do feel with Anderson fee, it’s with a view in mind of getting MGW. Good for Forest books and they have a replacement already they like, good for us.
-
I doubt we did and liked his potential. But £35m for someone who’s 2nd choice, where that potential may not come, when we need to make first choice CB and RW signing, it’s a deal you can’t turn down.
-
It‘ll be informally leaked by end of tomorrow regardless. Either Man Utd side because they want to be smug at fee, or our side as a final two fingers up to Man Utd. No way it stays a secret giving the disdain to each other.
-
I think it’s a case of waiting now till late in window and make the deal.
-
Just going to be there till we slap him down on a new deal. If his agent got any sense, he’ll be jumping on this shit talk to get that new deal pushed through to more favourable terms.
-
I’d rather we kept wiggle room back for next season so we can make moves that are opportunist. This summer, just need to get a RW and CB. Just not getting the goalkeeper vibes now after signing two shit ones. If we get one, that’s going to be a late August deal after moving Dubravka on and getting a loan for the Greek guy/selling Pope due to a deal we can’t turn down. (If Wilson goes, a replacement for him). Smaller squad should be fine with just premier league to play for.
-
I’m sure it was said ages ago that anything like this doesn’t go towards PSR?
-
Benefits all, just not Man City. Because I think they’re at the limit of the proposal, whilst others got some room to grow, and likes of us and Villa, plenty.
-
‘Remains confidential to the clubs’. That to me, paints it more a deal Man Utd don’t want to be made public, because it doesn’t help them long term when trying to prize people away.
-
Think we’re still in a position as a club where we can sell it to someone they can be the man at RW. Don’t need to play 2nd fiddle, you’ll be the guy for rest of decade.
-
Just really hope it’s a transformational RW. Someone who knows they’re amazing, someone who’s ready to be the man, someone who will immediately give opposition fear even if he’s out of form. Edit: Like this signing for me is the key thing to get back to top 4 challengers and legit take a step forward. Can’t be understated how much of a step forward we will take if we nail it. Can get away with a weak CB for season with that.
-
Either him or Ruddy are 2nd choice No way we sign another goalkeeper unless Pope goes, because then we would have 5 senior goalkeepers on our books ffs.
-
Nah. Miley will end up being a far better player long term. I’d say there’s a fair chance he ends playing RB for Spurs in Ange system.
-
Pointless signing. Paying money for someone who is genuinely as shit as Dubravka.
-
Glad he’s gone. £33n without kicking a ball for us is laughable. Modern day football so move with the times people. He should be one of 10 over next 6 years where you accept as part of the game and the one you keep and enjoy.
