Each time I see Anderson, it hurts me so much. Should’ve been a CM here for good majority of his 20s and we never got to really experience him because of the unfortunate injury last season Going to be more painful in seasons to come when he breaks into England team.
-
I’d also argue the best Man City version was one that had two strikers in Aguero/Jesus. I 100% believe clubs will from next season onwards want to have two strikers because of how the game is evolving. Sides are building up more in a 3-2 + whatever shape, and that shape is either 4 attacking mids and one striker, or 3 attacking mids and 2 strikers. The goal threats are the strikers if wide men are not racking them up.

Not that good based on? I’d like to think Howe would take someone like Delap (players that are eager to learn/develop) to new levels and £40m will be great buy. For other post about free transfers, do we really want to clog squad up with guys like KWP/DCL that don’t move the needle at all and could become a burden. We got lucky (might still not be the case depending how Juve season goes) with shifting Kelly on.

Teams have done well against them, it’s just a lot of results keep going Forest way as the underlaying stats says so. They’ll naturally drop off next season because training and match prep in like 48 hour turn arounds is a completely different ball game. Howe touched on this I think it was for the League Cup SF. Where he said our experience and learnings from the required short turn around match plans from Europe helped him plan and implement for the Arsenal game.

Someone like Mbeumo would tick that 2nd striker option whilst being RW, but his signing is peak value with little resale profit. So maybe Delap could be the opportunistic move we’ve done in past, with RW to be a low cost shrewd signing, which Mitchell is there for. Say we have £60m earmarked for ST/RW. Would people like it to be Delap £40m and RW £20m, or DCL £0 and Mbeumo £55m.

We’ve seen some evolution this season of almost being a 4-4-2, so a 2nd striker or someone that’s clearly more suited through the middle would get loads of minutes and be as valuable as other outfield positions. Like Man Utd have Zirkzee to go up top, Villa have two in Rashford replacing Duran, Chelsea have two in Nkunku/Jackson, Liverpool as mentioned, Spurs have two in Solanke/ Richarlison, Man City signed Marmoush as they only had Haaland. Arsenal weirdly have Jesus/Havertz. Big sides have two IMO, Gordon as that 2nd for us is never it. We all say it when he plays up top, and I’m sure it’s a viewpoint expressed by Howe too behind closed doors, and for one reason or another, Osula hasn’t been that this season for us.
-
They’ve got the bit between their teeth now, so can stumble over line and secure top 5. Needs 3 sides to be consistent to end of season to overtake them, which I can’t see happening. They’ve done the hard work.
-
Delap can play on the wings too. As much chance it’s with Barnes moving on IMO. Can rotate with Isak up top, can play with Isak up top, can fill in LW for resting Gordon if required. Many upsides to getting value, whilst we’ve probably got ours out of Barnes and he’s only ever going to be 2nd fiddle at LW. Opportunity to cash in this summer.

Couldn’t care less if I’m honest, having a side like Forest in UCL would be refreshing and it’s funny Man Utd losing still. UCL is in our hands, that’s all that matters.
-
We win our game in hand, we’re one ahead of Chelsea and still to play them at home.
-
Forest win. Chelsea is the club we should be finishing above, especially since we still play them at home.

1st Seeds Real Madrid Home / PSG Away 2nd Seeds Juventus Home / Napoli Away 3rd Seeds Sporting Away / Marseille Home 4th Seeds Celtic Away / Bilbao Home Probably be the ‘tough’ draw we end up with

16.5% has to be bollocks, I’m on 0 out of I think 8 For Ipswich one, instead of a pair, gone as an individual and Mrs as one too. Test to see who’s successful. Someone who’s been a member for like a decade and always enters ballot, or someone who’s been a member since last season and never enter a ballot as the lead person.

Haaland injury is the sort of thing which will ignite Man City season. Marmoush up front who can actually press, and importantly drop into pockets and rotate with like Foden up top. I can see their football being a lot better and questions rightly asked for next season if Man City are better as an overall team (like 18-21) as a result than 22-25 where Haaland has been there.
-
I don’t think they will be building a stadium for the profit, it will be to have a significant infrastructure project within a major UK city. Then the continued regeneration from oversees money that comes with it that will appeal to any UK government, that’s the ongoing profit for PIF.
-
No Gordon far better.
-
Was tongue in cheek, that if it’s not a lower league / dead rubber, he’ll be starting.
-
What part of his game is on same level as the real top strikers? This is the thing people don’t accept with Haaland because he piles in goals elsewhere, but there’s so many aspects of his game that lack.
-
Haaland contract says he can’t be dropped. Games like today just show how limited Haaland is and he’s a good level below the actual top strikers.
-
Bruno What a legend.
-
Also as said before, the market for him if he wants to play at top end and challenge for trophies is not big, because Arsenal / Liverpool will want to go with a more sure thing. It’s really only us, Chelsea (if they don’t go abroad for their striker) and Villa if Watkins moves on IMO. We’re in best position and got the selling point of multiple players going onto playing for their country having joined us. It’s just an expensive luxury signing for what we still need to do to squad, bit like Barnes buy, but one I would still want to have done because he’s such a talent and a proper striker. Say he was £40m, RW £40m-£50m and Trafford £20m. That feels best part of our spend done unless we go real balls deep and drop £40m on a CB too. Feels one of RW / CB would have to be a £10m mark buy.

Callum Wilson new deal.

Agree, 65k, where it can be expanded to say 72k in time is more than big enough.

People downplaying the English talent again by not wanting Quansah. Just like Trevor Chalobah, there's really good talents for good fees. I'd be happy if we exclusively spent the big money on English talent, because the ceiling is stupidly high.
