That’s some talent on bench to change things if not going to plan, or better, to up the gears if leading after 60 to kill it off in a positive fashion.
-
Bowen That would fully meltdown the fan base.
-
If PSR wasn’t a thing, ourselves and Villa would be firmly entrenched in top 5 alongside Man City / Arsenal / Liverpool. It’s why it’s working PSR for the big boys because whilst Villa are in there currently, their squad means they’re not a serious threat for the title, and whilst we got up there again, we’ve had to fall off. Gives a breathing space for others to sort their stuff out before we try and come again.
-
Our recent one was finishing 5th, which is then all down to country coefficient.
-
Buyer only getting a bargain if they’re getting 22-23 Willock, which by all purposes is more an anomaly than the norm. Not like we’re selling him on back of some solid form.
-
He was electric for Arsenal start of season till he got injured But people will just look at 0 goals and 0 assists and ignore all the good play he’s done when he’s been on the pitch. My point is, we are so judgmental on players we’re linked with because they’re not ripping up trees at their clubs.

Is it better? The previous approach was overpaying. Antony was fine if he was signed for circa £40m, not double that. This summer they’ve over paid for Cunha to get it in instalments and he’s scored 3 goals. Overpaid for Sesko. It’s the same stuff. Mbuemo the good one, but that’s paying a high fee but for someone who was the most sure thing to get good results. We just need to move away from buying high price and be willing to take some gambles in Europe for less. Like even if we’ve overpaid for Thaiw compared to earlier in window when he was less, he was still a good gamble considering Guehi was looking at £70m the previous summer

Madueke again. So many of our fans once again didn’t want him because of an average return at Chelsea.
-
Strange seeing a player still play when linked with a big money move to one of the biggest clubs in world.
-
At least we don’t need to go to wolves with fear of being the side that loses to them first.
-
Want West Ham to win so Forest can be put under pressure. They’re poor and so far avoiding any danger somehow. It’s like 23-24 again.
-
He was fine, but the physicality of the game was showing on him. Schar fine for tomorrow IMO, but Botman ideally needed for Leeds game.
-
IMO, you don’t need both wingers to do that because it can unbalance the side massively in and out of possession. Need an asymmetric approach, where one of the wingers comes more central alongside Wolte, with full back providing the width when attacking down the opposite flank. I.e We’re building up down left, RW comes very central and RB is high and wide (with RCB pacey enough to cover ground). It’s a small tweak, but still requires CM collection get used to passing angles because one of the wingers won’t be hugging touchline.

Think Barnes gets lumped in because he’s of similar ilk where they’re not a starter. It’s like Ramsey for me (and maybe Elanga) that we will eventually get value out of them because they’re not bad players, but will they consistently be in the starting XI to close gap to the main sides, doubtful. They will help towards squad being better, but with limited funds we can spend, it’s a case of ‘surely we can improve the squad for less money / wages?’. Unless our revenues rise substantially over time, having a higher squad floor with wages will compromise what we can offer our first team wages if they do well.
-
It’s a natural ending for him here. We didn’t sign Ramsey for £40m to keep Willock on the books. If he was off this window though, we’d be signing a CM. A young CM with potential would be ideal, so they settle in to Howe ahead of next season and if Joelinton was to go in summer, that would be the purple signing to replace. Be surprised if we signed a big name one this January.
-
Same back 5 Ramsey - Bruno G - Joelinton Murphy - Wolte - Gordon That’s what I think it will be. Hopefully Tino fit to be on bench and come on after 55 to take load off Hall.
-
What is their home form at home since moving to new stadium compared to all other prem sides who have been in the league since? Must be mid table at best it’s felt like.
-
Festive run is just about getting the points because games are thick and fast, and each one will have their own unique situation because of the closeness of the games. No need to over analyse the Burnley game unlike Sunderland in comparison, it’s just about winning the next 2, rest players for cup game, big league cup game to get an advantage to hold on for 2nd leg, beat Wolves then evaluate from there. Should be 9 points in league and cups be what they be. Anything less in league then it’ll be more fair game to question things. Right now it’s crack on with the quality we’ve got and show it.
-
Sell Wolte Who the fuck would we want to sign to replace him? £70m on Watkins?
-
Hopefully spurs beat them on Sunday so we can get ahead of the cunts.
-
O’Nien thencunt in the middle. Hope he comes on in the derby so someone can snap him in half.
-
All the data points to them overachieving, so there is luck needed. Yea it’s great last ditch defending, but you need luck for where the ball drops afterwards or an attacker missing the shot badly, like we’ve seen in this game.
-
Fucking hate them. Such spawny cunts.
-
It’s a bit of luck in terms of the little amount of goals conceded, but they keep it competitive games from their style. Their style is like us of 22-23 but without the star quality.
-
Referees need to clamp down on Sunderland second half of season. Joke what they get away with.
