Man City missed so many good chances. Feels typical of Sunderland season for them to still get a point or win despite giving up clear chances that the opposition don’t take.
-
If he went down and didn’t header that, that’s a pen.

Can see why Adringa never played till the AFCON boys left.

Bobbly as anything. Ake I don’t want on this showing. Looks so shite.

Swear he was meant to say Cherki, then seemingly doubled down

Savinho is worse than Elanga.

Was Ramsey desperate to come here?

Sunderland home form will lift them to top 8 IMO.
-
Haven’t tried to be some Pep lite sides, that’s the difference IMO. Need to be direct and physical to survive first season.

Man City can’t cope with a direct side.

In certain areas. They have a lot of averageness in positions. As much as people go on about our wingers, Neto / Gittens / Garnacho / Mydruk is a comically average collection for sums spent. Esteavo looks to be bucking the trend but there is very much a muchness in parts of their squad. Cucarella / Hato as LBs. Gusto as RB The ones I mentioned previously along with Pedro are only ones that I’d be happy to be starters for us (Colwill depends on what he’s like post ACL).

Just got to hope with them keep signing players, they don’t luck into something. Caicedo / James / Palmer is a talented trio, and Esteavo actually looks legit unlike 95% of other Brazilian youngsters. Just they keep signing crap in defence and in goal, so hopefully if they did fluke into something there, it’s then when Palmer is off, James is broken again. Also this is another LOL for Delap, choosing to go there. Joined us, he could’ve been knocking on England door like every other English player we have (expect Barnes who’s going Scottish).
-
Really hope Elanga is back for this. Because Palace / Leeds / Bournemouth as a trio of home games can’t be any better for an attacker who needs something to get going.
-
Nuno on the blower to his pal Mendes Fuck me West Ham, sack Nuno off before more damage is done.
-
Oh yea, hand was forced. If it was 2-0 think he’d be coming off, but 2-1, game was always in the balance so we had no choice. Just hope we get a LB in ASAP, because he really needs rotation. So far, Bournemouth will likely be only game he’ll be rested for over January.

Going to the game with the Mrs, her record over past 2 seasons has been attended 3, won all 3 by the one goal against London sides (Brentford, Arsenal, West Ham). So 2-1 Newcastle.
-
No way we take for 2-3 years considering his injury record. All well and good having experience, but you need them to be available for games. Think even if he was signed as a back up LB for 2-3 years it would be a poor decision. He’s a good option for rest of this season, but let’s not tie ourselves down.

Going to be a chilly one this up in the Leazes.

Be some turn up if we cancelled Ramsdale loan because there’s a clause to do so and signed a GK 6 months early. At worse they sit on bench for that period and integrate into group, at best when Pope gets a knock again, they come in and impress and it’s a position sorted before next season.
-
One thing I did find amusing very early on in the game was the defence not using Pope as a passing angle. If Burnley pressed early on, it would’ve gave us serious issues because passing flat across a back line and into Bruno with a CM all over him, is asking for trouble. I know he’s not great with his feet and it’s probably a conscious choice by defence to not put him in unnecessary situations, but we do still need to use him otherwise sides will go back to pressing us and we will turnover it over more again.

I’m starting to be less fussed about players going to Saudi, because the quality is there in the upper ends. Saw with Al Hial at CWC, the coaching is still top quality. Not all players will be same, but people probably have it viewed as a player going to China last decade, when they were really done as players or quality was really bad.
-
He’s struggling more this season, but experience still a big part. Dropping back onto the goal was a prime example of reading the situation and it helped us win.
-
He was class again. Said in the thread, him and Miley were our most composed and showed up the senior players in how to deal with the ball to take sting out of the games. I dont mind if they lose it occasionally, because their attentions are always positive. My worry with Hall was how we kept him on for the full 90 despite his ankle clearly injured. Very shorterism considering his recent injuries, so hopefully we get a LB in urgent so we don’t make this a norm. Needs looking after at a young age.

Give 24 hours my man.

We look to be getting better as an attacking unit across 90 minutes. Still serious issues in how easy it is to bypass the midfield with one ball because it’s flat and that looks like it will never change. At this point I’m not expecting it to change because Howe is wielded to that, but as long as we can keep improving in attack with our link up, passing, movement and chance creation. We can score 3 in a game very often and it takes defensive issues out of the equation. That’s been the bedrock of our success in the past, racking up the goals (often in quick succession) which can take a game away from opposition and when in second half of season, it can mentally kill off a game because opposition will accept defeat and save legs, if we don’t gift them an easy way back in.
