Not on board with Trafford. Guy needs a season or two minimum playing and making mistakes as he learns. Sitting on our bench all season does him no good. If it was signed and loaned back to Burnley it’s about tolerable. But having him on our bench isn’t really succession planning for post Pope. I’d be more confident of Howe staying than Mitchell if it was one or the other who was chopped in near future due to tensions. Howe effectively would need to be languishing mid table to be under threat, as owners not stupid IMO and know how much backing Howe has and that goes a long way to keeping eyes off ownership.

I’m a big fan of Guehi, but I can accept club drawing a line at the fee getting close to £70m, as he’s not some god tier talent that’s unattainable elsewhere. Just not having no other back up options, is criminal when we’re playing Krafth ffs.

Think I prefer Barnes on RW after the last two games. Feels a better balance when the RW is direct, and Barnes seems more effective than Gordon in that role. I don’t think we’ll sign a RW now. And it’s a case of those two being wingers than Joe x 2 LW and Murphy / Miggy RW the back up options if injuries happen.

Middle and final third, he’s great with ball. Our own third, he’s great without the ball. As soon as he had the ball though in our own third, I’m really on edge as he tries technical parts which he just doesn’t have and loses it in such dangerous areas. Still, him LCM and Gordon LW, will help Hall out loads, and Hall and Gordon will help out Joelinton loads on the technical ball retention.
