Getting flash forwards of a wolves goal, groans and whole ground become restless like the West Ham game
-
Bit of a dead atmosphere this.
-
If Krafth back soon, it’s 4 CBs. That should be manageable, can’t turn down good bids for 5th option in the rare case 3 get injured. Just too much short term thinking which got us into the PSR mess. Feels like now we’re thinking bit more long term, engineering moves out ready for some opportunistic June business.
-
Saudi clubs buying anyone from Fenerbache who then buy from us?
-
I’d like to think Kelly wages are lower with bonuses. So like if we plays, clean sheet, win it’s getting to £150k pw, but base more around £100k which is still very dumb for a squad filler. Can’t remember what the timeline was for him and Tosin, but if Tosin was off to Chelsea when we were still in talks, did it make us get scared and cave to the higher demands to ensure same didn’t happen again?
-
Most questioned the signing prior, and each performance hasn’t helped change viewpoints. Best arguments people have are “He’s a good 3rd choice at LCB/LB”. THIRD CHOICE People lose their shit over DCL being 3rd choice striker.

We’re effectively the only top end club that has a clear pathway at RW for the new signing to be their own star in that position.
-
But their pathways are shut off potentially. Like who in their right mind who you want joins Chelsea? If they do, red flag and best avoiding (got so many RW options). Then if Salah stays, any new RW will be playing scratch minutes and some cup games, and likely staying that till Salah contract ends.
-
Based on that, how about Mads Hermansen as the GK signing. Look a reasonable keeper with the required skill set that can enable them to go up a level. Leicester stay up, may need sales and could be an opportunistic move.
-
Was there even a market for him? Even on a free, there wasn’t a great deal of clubs chasing him.
-
Great. One chance of getting rid and the boat is sailing off. Hopefully it’s to milk an extra £1-£2m and not a repeat of Almiron in the summer.
-
Ending day tomorrow in top 4 would be some turn around from us.
-
Might see Chiesa, but that would mean Salah coming off which won’t ever happen.
-
Chris Wood is stupidly good this season.
-
Says more about our squad depth IMO. Barnes is regularly the first one subbed when he’s started this season, which isn’t a ringing endorsement. He’s a good squad option, but I’m not going to lose any sleep if he leaves.
-
But they will need to nail a striker because Watkins is getting older. Need to nail a few big signings IMO. Their best player and most key in the centre was signed by Gerrard for £0.

Smashing goals at SJP for Georgia at Euro28.

Right character, it carries a lot during their early to mid 20s. It's when Isak is around 28 he'll want to move to an elite side if he's at top of his game and we don't look like offering the major trophies. I've got no concern on him leaving any time soon. Fully expect him to sign a new contract in summer that puts him close to £200k (with some bonuses) and if we don't bring the trophies by 2028, he'll be wanting a move and that's fair. Should be 2+1 left on his contract at that point, where if he's at top of his game, £80m fee would be fair and we've had like 5 seasons of his enjoyment.
-
Yea, that's Monchi and works well when Emery is getting results. But doesn't leave club in a good state over a longer time because it's often bloated and quite a bit of crap left over. Core of their team in Martinez, Konsa, McGinn, Watkins as the fans know it, when they're moved on in coming seasons I can see them being a bit lost.
-
I said it before, Villa will be looking to upgrade on Malen in summer. They're full scatter gun in attack trying to replace what they had in Diaby.
-
Say there’s a hypothetical bid, would it be better to have the fee amortised at a loss of 1m-2m on books for next 3 seasons, instead of 5m? We’re making a loss, so may as well reduce it. That said, does anyone know when his contract expires? Can’t see anything online.
-
Can’t tell if is just the opposition, but he looked really quick. There was times he was running back to win ball, and he was eating yards quicker than I’ve seen any of our players do. Absolute traction of a left foot. I’m onboard that there’s something to work with him and he can become a real good 2nd choice striker next season.
-
One thing I’ll give Targett for him to remain in the squad, he’s the closest to Hall without us needing to change our style. Not for the progressive passes, but for the unselfish overlaps that Hall gives Gordon, and the deliveries (which weren’t good yesterday by large). Kelly playing LB would not give us that. Which again points Kelly as a weird signing because he’s effectively 3rd choice LCB for at least another season.
