  1. Good luck bro in your 10 min cameo. Make sure you either A) Run around like a headless chicken if we’re defending a lead or B) Play like prime Messi to score/create the crucial goal(s) to get a result.
  2. Rest of team is fine as it picks itself (Hall was always going to be rested, and Wolte probably too seeing he’s needed for many more games), just Willock starting is the trigger for me. Just has no reason or right to be starting seeing Miley and Ramsey should be ahead of him. It can’t just be shrugged off a decision like this, it’s proper baffling. Willock is someone who should be off in January and here he is starting ahead of our promising kid who has shown he’s good enough and our £40m CM summer signing.
  3. What was the point in Ramsey if we’re rolling out Willock ffs.

He wouldn’t refuse to play for DRC again with a once in a life time World Cup possibly. This is a guy that went on strike to get his once in a life time move to play in UCL.
  5. Saturday game reinforced to me that we are a big game team and can go far in UCL based on that. We however have to start improving away and winning at Marseille (doing a professional job where it’s efficient) would be a statement.
  6. Pope: Tino, Thaiw, Schar, Burn: Joelinton, Miley, Bruno G: Barnes, Wolte, Elanga That’s me prediction for team. Hall rested, Botman still dropped, and Tonali the midfielder cycled out, with view that Joelinton is one that’s out at weekend.
  7. Him and Tel for £100m is a big waste. Spurs have spent so much on younger players but they’ve all been poor to date.
  8. They’ll slide down the table and everyone will act shocked in the media. The tightness of the table is helping people like Frank, but that won’t last.
  9. Frank will be sacked before we face them which will be annoying.

ACON sides will call up players even if they’ve just come out of a cast.

Is he even back training on grass with first team? Because that’s probably still like another 2 weeks away from featuring when he’s doing that.

This is key. Because it gets us on front foot attacking, rather then constantly turning the ball over. Away from home is where we should really see the benefits.
  13. I feel yesterday opened up the gateway for Burn to come back into side at LCB for Everton. And Burn will want to be playing regularly at CB because he has a very legit chance of going to World Cup, so if Botman is basically a back up CB up to summer, it makes giving him a new deal on £120k+ very difficult to justify. You’re right it opens up needing to replace 3 CBs in a short space of time, but maybe that’s what has to happen. 2 CBs this summer coming knowing season has ended with Thaiw / Burn as starting CBs. Then Burn replacement in 2027? Botman wanting to stay on just a fraction more wages would be best all round. I don’t feel there’s a market for him to get bigger wages elsewhere and compete at top end. So maybe we hold the power here.
  14. He’s only started back to back games once with a striker when he’s been RW this season, so I’m happy to give him plenty of time. That was Forest H and Union A before Oct internationals. Then started Brighton A after that, hooked at HT and that’s been it. Hard to build up much momentum when you are coming off bench in games where either the team has been playing terribly for 60+ mins or it’s final 15 and team is sat deep to defend a lead. Playing 38% of available prem minutes when being available this whole time isn’t ideal for a £55m attacking signing.
  15. Not digging him out because he didn’t play, but if Burn is here for next few seasons as a back up LCB, what are peoples feelings on giving Botman that big new deal? Is he someone we should 100% commit too, or is there an argument we’ve seen the best of him and if a reasonable fee is there, we could get a CB that has a higher ceiling? I like him at times, but then others he can look so cumbersome.
  16. When we had a break away and Murphy rightly retained possession as options weren’t there, watch it back and see the run Elanga made from deep Guy literally sprinted past the whole Man City side to get up there in support. He’s insanely quick.
  17. If they still had TAA, I’m extremely confident he’d be putting up good numbers. Because TAA is a crossing merchant of quality, so would be looking and playing the balls that Murphy did. That’s Liverpool’s biggest issue that their fans downplayed loads. Losing TAA who is literally a unique player and basically a KDB creator in defence means you have to completely change the way you attack after like 6+ years. And slot hasn’t found the answer and there’s a valid argument that without TAA, Salah is worse off for it too and then hinders their attacks more.
  18. He was having to chase down 4 defenders What is he suppose to do? Runs to one, he’s out of position and bypassed. He was essentially stop the passes central and be an outlet if we go long into space. Thankless task.

    Nick Woltemade

Took up different positions today which was nice to see. Ones where he was side on looking to run behind, which straight away makes defenders have to positions themselves differently even if he won’t win a foot race. Small changes that is clearly coming from Howe which helps us, and will help him long term in this league.
  20. Hopefully he starts midweek and can put in a performance to get confidence going.
  21. The Saudis better not bail them out for Isak or Salah these next 6 months or I’ll be fuming.

    Harvey Barnes

Barnes purple patch run at LW where Gordon is on bench and he gets restless and pushes for a move in January because of World Cup, could be a blessing in disguise giving his past 12 months.
  23. Delighted he got the win Really hope we back it up now away to Everton because those games are where our issues are rather than the big ones under the lights at home.

    Lewis Hall

So happy to see him back. Think he’ll rightly be on bench mid week, but should be starting all prem games moving forward. Him and Tino are levels above and give us an attacking dynamic that teams have to be worried about.
