  1. He's a good signing on paper, depends if his head is in the game now though as all I've heard about his time at Juventus, was it being a complete mess. Don't think he gets into their best XI anyway, but he should ensure the squad can be rotated in Europe. Forest going about it the right way, but can see them needing to sell end of season because of PSR and all that (wages to turnover be a driver). Likely know MGW is a easy £65m sale though so can roll with the ambition this summer.
  2. We’ve seen with Joselu at Real Madrid. Just having someone who’s physical up front and knows how to play the striker role (and be injury free by large), will be so many levels better than what we have right now. We can easily end up in a situation where Wissa comes in, and Isak goes, and we’re still one injury away from Gordon back to leading the line.
  3. Just thinking of short term plugs that are attainable and shown good quality in European competitions. If we’re turning our nose up at DCL / Vardy on frees, not signing the mid range high risk players £30m, and want to avoid paying OTT prices for bang average strikers that we are then likely stuck with for next 5 years, then the cheaper strikers are worth considering where you can look to move on next summer for minimal loss.
  4. That says more about Martin
  5. They’ll wrap up El Khanoussi quickly for LW.
  6. At this point, I’d happily take Dessers from Rangers if he was attainable around £10m mark. He’s old, but would be a short term plug. Has a tidy finish to him (big game player) but his link up play looked good in Europe last season for Rangers.
  7. After looking to rescue the window, we’ve fucked it again by not getting a striker in for the Liverpool game.
  8. We’ve never been needed to be in this panic situation. Literally chasing shadows for strikers in the perception of “we have to get one”. These are not going to be on par with our other big money signings which are based on long term scouting and confidence.
  9. If Wissa is going to happen, I’d rather we just rolled with him even if Isak left, instead of spending £60m+ on average. That will hurt us more long term as we wouldn’t be able to move on any striker. Rather accept the short term pain and plan long term striker option instead of a panic move. World Cup year so options will be opened up.
  10. Bradley defending is overhyped. He’s rash and prone for being out of position. Their defence on right side in general is weak and will be the target area again with Barnes / Gordon / Joelinton all overloading that side knowing Salah won’t track back. With no Gravenberch too, there’s even weaker cover.
  11. Inflation is bollocks when it comes to transfers though. Coutinho was also peak Barca stupidity, so even harder to use as a gauge. £150m that’s realistic, is the value especially with a disgruntled striker where we don’t know what he will do in September. I’m sure club will be same in thinking, and not some fairy thoughts of £200m.
  12. Feels a slight piss take as it’s the exact same situation as we’re in (minus Larsen not refusing to train/play).
  13. That’s a squad that’s got youth though. Palmer / Lewis / Bobb fringe players. The principle is he likes squads small in full international terms. The youth/fringe players can train and it not be an issue if they get 0 mins. Likes of Stones etc. doing same is. None of the defenders or CM leaving by end of summer won’t be replaced. The talk is Rodrygo for Savinho if that happened, but that’s probably with an eye on next season as B.Silva is leaving.
  14. Would expect two from Stones / Ake / Akanji / Kushanov to leave by end of window, especially if O’Reily stays. Then one of the CMs (Kovacic or Gonzalez), on top of one of the wingers (Savinho likely, not listed). It’s usually a squad of 17 outfield players Pep likes to work with, with a couple of emerging youths.
  15. £125m flat fee £2m for every season Liverpool qualify for Europe whilst Isak is there for next 5 seasons £2m for every season Isak scores 10+ goals whilst at Liveroool for next 5 seasons £5m for winning the league title in the next 5 seasons That’s a realistic add ons IMO and would see a deal get done.
  16. It’s the wage to turnover that would’ve been the issue with the Isak big new contract last summer, with Bruno clause, then the signings this summer maybe wanting £20k+ more each as they see the top end wage. All has a knock on, and would mean maybe needing to sell a higher earner to bring it down (which then weakens the XI/Squad).
  17. He’s just had a weak season. It’s cash in time on the contract as the pathway is closed off at Brighton and stock only going to fall lower.

    Yoane Wissa

Sounds like it was rejected based on the add ons. Which if that is the case, this gets sorted by end of tonight.

Downward spiral? G/A every 100 mins last season in Prem ffs, with a near impeccable injury record. With a World Cup coming up, he’s going to be as hungry as he ever has been to get to that as well.

Time to move on. It’s going to be £50m+ to get it done and there’s no point. Think Watkins can be attainable for that. Not sure where we go now though. Loan options must be considered?

This surely gets accepted otherwise we’ve been played.
  22. So they have Still need an extra attacker so depends if Jackson would be viewed as wide attacker.
  23. They need a 2nd striker with all their games though. Had Duran last season than Rashford as short term filler if needed up front. This season haven’t got that at the moment, and even less attacking options with Bailey off and Asensio not there at the moment.
  24. It‘ll be made out likes of Wirtz will be use to these types of atmosphere, but him and Frimpong will be in for a shock. Even someone like Kerkez (would expect Robertson to start for an experienced ‘calm’ head) wouldn’t have played in an atmosphere as intimidating.
  25. If he also said ages ago he was off, he would’ve surely told the players too? Otherwise there would be no potential final goodbyes if the transfer was done in off season. Keep seeing Liverpool fans compare this to Wissa and Gordon too Makes no sense. God I hope we beat them Monday. Proper knock them down a few pegs.
