  1. Surprised Isak agent hasn’t deleted all reference of Newcastle on his instagram page.
  2. Didn’t bother getting one as couldn’t be doing going to work next day (live 4 hours away) on little sleep / take annual leave. Wish I did get one now how this saga has played out. One for the ages.
  3. The other thing I like about the statement, it subtly informs Isak he should be pissed off at his agent for not getting Liverpool to come back with an offer. If you are frustrated, take it out on your agent, not the club or the players/coach Can still be training, playing and forcing this all behind closed doors.
  4. We don’t need to be wild, they have enough hot heads themselves to lose it. We just need to be firm, wind them up, and let Liverpool implode.
  5. Yasir surely flying in for the Liverpool game? Heavyweight game for many reasons, and need the top dog in boardroom there to tell Liverpool guys where to fucking go.
  6. I did not think a statement would come, but that is as clean cut as you can get and that last line leaves the door firmly open for him to come crawling back. Guy at this point must be too embarrassed to come back any time soon
  7. That BBC sports quote stinks of something agree between Mitchell/Eales and Isak agent, which was in words and not on paper, so as soon as first bid rejected, the agent is saving face.
  8. We can’t release a statement, as whilst we can say no promises were made, who’s to say there’s not emails between Mitchell and Isak agent saying he will be sold this summer if we get a bid of £120m. We won’t know about it, but it then puts us in the shit. Just better off staying quiet on it.
  9. Guy also desperate to leave, he can’t be picky on the clubs then can he? Time for PIF to line up a Saudi bid (or loan).
  10. Also, we won’t issue no statement as a club, as why would we? What Edwards says will be our stance, and Howe is the guy doing the answering. Don’t need to sink to Isak / his agent level. Nothing changes until Liverpool offer £150m, that bid that’s been 72 hours away for last 200 hours.
  11. Giving Isak normal Insta posts, it doesn’t strike me as one he controls All generic stuff. Scenes if Isak is sitting at home watching something on Netflix, all unknown this is happening as his Agent has put it out. Be even more funny. This transfer saga will be studied in years to come. Made ZERO sense from the moment season ended. Turns up in Austria. We make a play for a striker. Liverpool sign them. Then this all blows up.
  12. This is the nuclear option from Isak. He knows club won’t change stance, but it’s last resort where if the players tell Howe they want rid of him, then it’s done. Players probably still had some professional element left for him, but this may now have killed that. Still, rather we just made him sit it out for a year then leave. Or sit out for three years and leave for £0. Players will respect it.
  13. Makes such little sense Wants out because promises broken, but unsure what promises and the guys likely broken it not even here anymore? But doesn’t say about leaving to want to win the big trophies, just broken promises. Almost as much as he’s somehow making a play to get a better contract from us ffs
  14. Jonathan Rowe if he could be signed for a reduced fee around £15m? Still a raw player, but has played up front at times and still at an age that can be moulded by Howe. Worse case, it’s a quick flip next summer.
  15. Just important more than ever that Elanga ways in with 10+, and our CMs score more.
  16. Gordon is a poor striker in terms of being a goal threat, but he’s comfortably the best in terms of his movement. That alone will keep defenders on their toes, force mistakes and create space. On top of his knowledge of when and where to press.
  17. He’s also at an age and rep, where he could wrangle a Prem move for 3 years / top end of championship which ties him over till his retirement. Which after his ACL injury would be massive for him, so probably just as much him wanting to move as a final here playing 0 games will see options reduced.
  18. Think if he’s reintroduced, the PR around it needs to be spot on and seeds sown early doors. I won’t ever be vocal towards a Newcastle player playing in black and white if they give their effort / produce on the pitch. Others will have a different view, but if the PR piece is all driven towards bad advice, knows he’s let everyone down, will work hard to repair the trust and confidence to players, fans and Eddie, with an interview from him restating his commitment to deliver long term success, that will at worse make the reception he gets be muted, which is vastly better than boos (and other unsavoury stuff which may come when a few idiots are geared up). Even if it’s with him deep down leaving next season, a fan base that’s not publicly showing disdain to a player and that player scoring 15+ goals, will help us achieve our goals this season.
  19. With Strand Larsen, yes he’s technically joined Wolves this summer, but he was effectively a signing last summer because of the obligation to buy option. So it was a £35m signing in 2024, that would now cost £45m+
  20. This situation is why I don’t get the sniggering we had towards someone like Vardy. One year deal, even if it’s £100k pw is £5m. That’s a drop in the ocean for having someone who can score goals in our side, has a good fitness record, then he’s off end of season. It’s not some mockery signing, it’s plugging a short term gap. Desperately dropping £60m+ on someone like Jackson, 5 year deal, who was like 10th on our list (maybe lower) is more of a mockery and laughable action.
  21. Would love him to do that this week, but think it’s too much of a risk to bring him back to training ahead of Liverpool game as people mentioned a few weeks back. This time next week, the 2nd and final bid from Liverpool either comes in or he’s coming back with tail between his legs. Liverpool need another attacker, so if they decide against Isak, they would only have one week to make a move. Potentially radio silence from Liverpool because they’re working away behind closed doors on the new target, hence nothing being leaked to the usual guys. Isak current situation works in Liverpools hands.
  22. Yea, people get caught up in Palmer high light reels, he's been proper stodgy in Prem for a long time now, which probably isn't helped by Marescaball.

    Yoane Wissa

Brentford have been clear from early on it would be circa £50m. That was the chat early doors from Jan onwards. The £40m has been a figure banded about based on what we’ve been prepared to go too, never what Brentford want. The hope has been after the £25m-£30m offer, the current situation, it would eventually be acceptable the £40m. We’ve both been steadfast in not moving and it’s why literally nothing has moved, no new bid, nothing. Wissa has been a complete wanker all summer and I don’t want him. Yea he’s desperate to get the move he probably never thought would happen 12 months ago (UCL and final big contract), but there’s ways to go about it. If we’re unhappy as a club with Isak, we can’t be looking at Wissa with dreamy eyes. Be red flags to people, especially if it means going beyond £40m to get him. Leave this, move on. Can always revisit in January if needs be.
