  1. What he has failed to even mention is that in the settlement agreement it is stated at 17biv and v that the PL don’t have the evidence to prove even on the balance of probability hence why there was a favourable settlement agreement as opposed to the matter being put to an IC. The facts are that most of the 3rd parties who received monies aren’t in football so can’t be compelled to answer questions and those that knew about are no longer involved at Chelsea again can’t be compelled to give evidence or even agree to be interviewed . In effect the payments pointed to the club making illicit payments but by those individuals not engaging means that full context is impossible to arrive at My take is that we got off lightly. It’s almost certain that we aren’t the only club that operated in this way but the change of ownership provided an opportunity to get historic matters dealt with.
  2. Badly written ? Thought I made it pretty clear that we got away with one. Ok I didn’t make it clear that I am a Chelsea supporter but pretty obvious to be honest from that comment alone. As for your comment would suggest that’s even worse! Correct
  3. It was a penalty we got away with one And I am very happy but next week when the roles are reversed I will feel cheated !
  4. As amazing as it is we have the joint second best goals against recording the PL but to be honest I think that sort of flatters us. He certainly is a marmite player but Cucerella is a very good player . Yes he pushes things to the limits but he knows how to press a player and yep when to leave a little bit in if he is in your club shirt he is adored but if he is playing against your club he will always get bored. Reece James is an incredibly versatile player , as is Gusto. Reece is the better defender but the engine Gusto possesses is impressive. As of today our best two CDs are Fofana and Chalobah . We have a player who is going to be a top PL player in Acheampong but others including the likes of Badiashile and Tosin are terrible Now Sanchez is empowered to lump the ball long he looks better equipped and again a marmite player well at least to Chelsea supporters. Mad as it seems he is leading the clean sheet table in the 25 /6 PL
  5. A lot of the weirdness comes from Maresca and his crazy policy when it comes to rotation. We did indeed make 11 changes against Cardiff but it was anything other than the routine win the result suggests. Cardiff were a very decent outfit and the result only became certain once he, Maresca, bought a couple of the first choice players . Just on rotation they are clear indications that players at various clubs are now well into the red zone as it were and injuries are starting to stack up. Bearing in mind that over the next 42 or so days clubs like ours will be playing around 13 games for our clubs I think that’s on top of the 25 already played this season. I have absolutely no idea what version of Chelsea will turn up but our record to date in the PL this season in away games of won 4 drawn 2 and lost 2 scoring 15 and letting in 8 isn’t too shabby but could and should have been better.
  6. As a neutral, well I dislike WHU with a passion, they simply seemed far more balanced in midfield and when you started to chase the game they found the out ball with ease. You clearly miss younger legs at wing back but I just couldn’t believe how ineffective your midfield was. WHU supporters themselves will tell you that their midfield has little power or pace in their midfield yet yesterday they seemed more than adequate. Please don’t slaughter me but the steady decline of Pope is an issue for you as is the fact that Burn at 33 seems to be so heavily relied on and yes he may get a rest when those younger players get back to fitness but I won’t imagine he will be moved into CD. Part of the trouble is your own success in that for instance come the next international break far from getting a rest a significant % of your players, like most clubs, will be off on international duty . Ironically at this point your injury list isn’t out the norm so . All clubs suffer a dip in form. Finally I will agree with the poster who talked about the stadium and the area around it . Stratford is soulless, the stadium is soulless.
  7. The hearing was concluded weeks ago but as yet the IC have not handed down their judgment if ther3 is / are any sanctions due to be handed down that won’t be done in the first instance any sanctions will be another panels responsibility
  8. It’s not the PL delaying anything.its the 3 man/ woman panel that is taking its time. City fans are viewing the delay as you have but the reason might be the polar opposite.
  9. They both do indeed factor over three years but squad ratio costs are based on calendar years not accounting periods.
  10. The even crazier way that the who FfP/PSR works alongside squad ratio costs work means that you are right but when it comes to squad ratio costs the fee is spread over calendar years 25, 26 & 27 not a one off boost.
  11. if me memory serves me correctly he is 25 years old and signed his current contract with you in 22/23 so at the end of season 24/25 he was under 28 and his contract had run for three years ( all football contracts have an end date of 30/6) Had he within 15 days of your last game of the season (25 May?) Made the club aware he wanted to end his contract then he could , and I say could not would, have torn up his contract There is a very rarely used clause in FIFAs Articles that came about because of a Scottish player . In effect a player who below the age of 28 can after 3 years of their contract and over 28 after 2 years , can buy themselves out of their contract and fulfils the description of leaving outside the protected period and with sporting just cause. Whilst no fee would be payable at present there isn’t any fee payable but compensation would be payable . At the moment there is a joint and several liability held by the player and any club he signs for. There is as you say court cases going on in this regard and the European Courts have ruled that the current way compensation is calculated and by whom isn’t in accord with EU law. FIFA will have to adapt but the changes could well be only relevant in the EU . Some have said that the values Iberian clubs have to insert in players contracts may be the answer. What we do know currently compensation wouldn’t be close to any fee that you would normally expect nor is there any set formula that CAS , who are at present the final decision maker . Sorry about the long post but you are right as of now because no notice was given but wrong that it can’t happen
  12. Just listened to a Chelsea podcast where Matt Law, who seems to have very decent insight of matters Chelsea, is suggesting that Newcastle have stepped up interest in Jackson. We only have one international loan left so that’s unlikely to be Jackson to Bayern but the word is currently that we are unlikely to loan him to you or indeed Villa ( or another club whose name isn’t being disclosed ) unless there is a very decent up front fee and a cast iron obligation. We are now hitting transfers out in this window that have easily surpassed targets but both Jackson and Nunkuku will be moved out. Law is suggesting that the hierarchy at Chelsea are conflicted simply because Villa aren’t seen as much of a top 5 threat as you but on the other hand loaning him to you would mean he couldn’t play against us. Yes it really is as basic as that.
  13. Not going to play Billy big ones in all this because there but for the grace of and all that but one thing that not too sure what the majority views are but what will be the case if Isak is still at yours come 1/9 and still is playing silly buggers and you haven’t got a replacement in what will be the options for you up front ?

Thought a gazump was when you offered more

Gazump ? No need just need to offer what Liverpool do.

Don’t need to. When he was sold to Palace a buy back( price fee match) and a 20% sell on was inserted . We certainly have an issue following Colwill ACL but if he is being considered we wouldn’t need to do anything until Liverpool agree a fee with Palace.
  17. As part of the agreement when we sold him to Palace we have a fee match clause as well as 20-25% sell on
  18. Most , like me, are football supporters first who just happen to support Chelsea. Life is too short to get too tribal as some seem to do. At the end of the day we all should be safe and enjoy football be it home or away. In the day I had to go to meetings every so often at Longbenton and a very close work mate was a ST at St James Park. Met up with him when we stayed at Morpeth and my good lady and me went into town before the game. We lost! I genuinely try to stay respectful but sometimes even though I think I am not being controversial some take offence Hey ho.
  19. He was signed on 30/6/23 which was before both the PL and of course UEFA changed to amortisation rules. His annual amortisation is circa £4 million. In terms of loans yes there are restrictions it’s now down to As things stand we haven’t loaned any player out over the age of 21 Heres an explanation of the rules https://inside.fifa.com/organisation/media-releases/fifa-to-introduce-new-loan-regulations
  20. So let me get it right you don’t like Chelsea
  21. Your a Chelsea supporter ?
  22. As a Chelsea supporter I agree with most of this. Had we had a competent finisher over the last couple of seasons then we would have almost certainly finished higher up the league in both seasons, almost certainly would have beaten Liverpool in the 23/24 Carabo Cup final. I really hope you buy him and of course we get circa 100% profit( bought for £32 million) he isn’t worth it but hey if you become desperate then I do see him becoming an option . The only thing I see he has going for him is his speed. But even when he is at pace trying to join up with an attack his supporting runs are terrible often he occupies the space that the ball carrier is looking to get into.
  23. The clubs in the PL voted to change the period. I think only two clubs voted to amend the rule not sure which clubs.Chelsea weren’t one of them the reality was once UEFa changed their rules it would have been pointless ensuring compliance with both PSR&FFP in this area if the rules were not aligned. As someone else said clubs will vote in what they think is their best interests. The irony on this one is that likely the PL clubs that thought they were damaging just Chelsea to my thinking clearly hadn’t thought this through. Most, like say Bournemouth, Fulham and Brentford , used to be able to extend periods of amortisation by offering contract extensions which in turn reduced the amortisation sum in their accounts enabling to both keep a player and have a bit of wriggle room in their numbers. Quite a few of those players we signed initially are a few years into their 6, 7 or even 8 year deals, will still be around way after their fee has been written off for instance Caicedo is just about to enter the 3rd year of his 8 year deal with his fee being one of those that were restricted means that if the additional one year is taken up then he will still have 4 years left on his contract with no fee left to write down. Of course there are risks handing out long contracts some won’t make the grade as it were and still be on long term deals the trick then is how you move them on. Up to now that hasn’t been an issue but of course that could change in a blink of an eye. UEFA changed the rule first the irony was that clubs like Real and AM have always given far longer contracts yet it was only when Chelsea matched them did UEFA seem to act. The issue you mentioned above I believe will be worked around idc. How you ask, well these are just my initial thoughts how to if could possibly work if you have want to fit a fee into a rolling 3 year PSR/FFP period why not do the exact opposite to what Chelsea have done ? Offer costly incomings a 3 year deal with a club option of a further 2 years. The fee would be initially over 3 years but any residual sum won’t be great but once that contract extension is signed the remaining sum can then be spread up to 5 years in total. Of course there would have to be some sort of contract obligation such as if the 2 year option isnt taken up player 2 years salary is made by way of compensation. FFP/PSR like any regulation presents challenges but often when rule changes are imposed there are still options and whilst we, Chelsea, have been high profile we certainly weren’t the first to sale tangible assets , or in our case transfer, from the football club to the owners holding company nor will we be the last.
  24. Watching this whole ordeal from the sidelines believe me isn’t amusing it’s far from that! What it shows to me is just how difficult all this is for supporters and indeed re enforces my view just how arrogant players in general are! We all tend to get too invested in a player. We want to believe when they thump the badge on their chest it is to show us they care and love the club when the reality is it’s not just those that play for other clubs that are mercenaries they all, save a very very small number ,are just that, mercenaries! I fully understand those that want your club to play hardball but the cards are stacked sadly in the players favour. In effect you have to get rid and the sooner the better for you all so at least you can start to gain proper focus on the 25/6 season. His behaviour and absence will be dominating not just Howes thoughts it will be a the source of much chatter amongst all the players, the hierarchy and support staff and that’s before you look at the supporters. Sadly Liverpool seems to be the only club showing interest. They may tinker around the edges re the sum they offer but on your behalf I can’t start to imagine what happens is he doesn’t get that move . Will he ever be accepted back into the fold ? Could he ever step back and apologise? Its a mess that’s for sure and nothing of your doing
